Volume One, Chapter 131: The Star Left by Abu
Ribut, having grasped only empty air, stood frozen in place, momentarily stunned. However, as an experienced Ultra Warrior, he quickly regained his composure and prepared to face Diavolo alone.
But at that moment, Tartarus, who had been watching from the sidelines, made his move.
*Bang—*
Ribut, who had been charging forward, was instantly sent flying by a surge of destructive energy, crashing heavily to the ground.
"Perfect opportunity!" Diavolo growled, channeling energy into his "Hard-Power Destruction Bull Fist" once more, intending to crush this meddlesome intruder in one strike.
But he was stopped by Tartarus: "That is enough. Our primary objective is the Eternity Core. Attracting more people from the Land of Light serves us no purpose."
"Fine, then." Diavolo dissipated his energy, though he did not forget to throw a parting threat at Ribut before turning away: "I will spare you today, but I will surely have your head next time."
Ribut pulled himself up from the ground, but his gaze did not follow the two Ultimate Lifeforms. Instead, it locked onto Tregear, who had appeared alongside Tartarus. "You are actually still alive!"
"Indeed." Tregear felt a brief pang of annoyance, then said with a touch of helplessness: "Are you disappointed?"
"Hmph!" Ribut snorted, his tone resolute. "Even if you are alive, your schemes will never see the light of day."
"Whatever."
With those three dismissive words, Tregear turned and vanished into the golden light of the Narak space alongside Tartarus and Diavolo. Ribut clenched his fists, his eyes flickering with uncertainty, before he too vanished amidst a flash of light.
...
Inside the golden world, Tregear followed behind Tartarus. They had not gone far when several figures appeared before them. The most eye-catching among them was a warrior whose body was composed of red and silver lines.
Seeing him, Tregear subconsciously whispered: "Belial?"
Though his voice was low, everyone present was at least a star-level warrior, and their hearing was extraordinary. In an instant, every gaze turned toward Tregear.
Belial also glanced over, observing Tregear with keen interest. But his expression shifted slightly, and he exclaimed in surprise: "You are also a Dark Ultra Warrior?"
"I suppose so." Tregear did not deny it. After saying this, he walked aside, adopting a cold, unapproachable stance, and closed his eyes to rest.
Belial grinned, his interest in Tregear deepening. After all, in the tens of thousands of years since the birth of the Land of Light, this was the first time he had seen a Dark Ultra Warrior other than himself.
"I wonder whose son he is..." Belial muttered to himself. Faces of various acquaintances flashed through his mind, yet he could not find a single Ultra who shared similar traits with Tregear.
Tartarus did not dwell on the matter and led the group back to The Kingdom. This was Tregear’s first time on the planet Absolut, and he could not help but feel curious.
But his expression changed almost immediately. His gaze became fixed on a structure in the distance that resembled the Plasma Spark Tower.
Tregear’s mind stirred, and the Evil God System immediately fed the detected data back to him: "This wavelength is... the Difflator Ray?"
"You guessed correctly. We Absolutians are, in fact, similar to your Ultra race," Tartarus’s voice came, filled with pride. "However, you evolved by bathing in the Difflator Ray to obtain energy. As for our Absolutian race, we bathe in the Cascade Ray to evolve into Ultimate Lifeforms!"
"The Cascade Ray?" Tregear nodded slightly, though he quickly felt relieved and raised a question: "But this intensity—isn't it a bit too high?"
The Plasma Core of the Land of Light granted its people the power to evolve into Ultramen, but its light was gentle, far less violent than the radiance here. Feeling the overly volatile elements in the air, Tregear asked, "Has your energy core become uncontrollable?"
"Yes." Tartarus did not deny it, a look of profound sorrow crossing his face. "Arudulatra is no longer able to regulate the amplification of the Cascade Ray. The lifespan of this planet is running out."
When he spoke the final sentence, Tartarus's tone was heavy with helplessness and resentment. After all, this was the planet where he had been raised, yet now it faced total annihilation. It was just like the Land of Light long ago, when its sun exploded and the entire world stood on the brink of destruction. The only difference was that the Land of Light had developed the Plasma Spark and built the Plasma Spark Tower, successfully restoring their light.
Planet Absolut was different; they had already surpassed the evolutionary stage, and the crisis was being triggered by the very energy core they had created.
"So, you set your sights on the Land of Light?" As soon as Tregear finished speaking, Belial let out a cold snort: "Do whatever you want. The future of the Land of Light has nothing to do with me."
Tregear cast him a sidelong glance and said no more.
"Hey, hey, hey! This is a sacred place; the likes of you trash are not allowed to enter."
At that moment, a gruff voice rang out. Even without turning around, Tregear knew who it was. Diavolo was walking side-by-side with a warrior brandishing a golden longsword, their gazes filled with disdain and contempt as they looked at Tregear and Belial.
"Who are you?" Belial turned his head, clearly displeased.
Unexpectedly, the warrior crossed his blades, his voice icy: "You shall not defile this place!"
"Heh." Tregear chuckled, teasing: "Your Kingdom's way of welcoming guests is quite unique."
The air grew thick with tension. Tartarus raised a hand and said, "That is enough. We do not have time for such pointless squabbling. What matters now is infusing you with more Absolutian particles."
At Tartarus's gesture, Tregear and Belial stepped into the nearby apparatus.
"Begin!"
At Tartarus's command, the device activated. Instantly, a massive surge of Absolutian particles enveloped Tregear and Belial.
"Feels good," Belial shouted excitedly. "Power is surging out endlessly. Hehehe, hahahahaha!"
Tregear, however, looked grim. While these Absolutian particles could enhance their strength, they also, in a sense, tightened the control held over them. Tartarus could even detonate this energy, easily destroying them if he so desired.
The infusion of Absolutian particles was soon complete, and Tartarus laid out his next plan: first, he would take Tregear and Diavolo to continue the pursuit of the Eternity Core; second, Belial would lead the others to monitor the movements of the Land of Light and prepare for the coming battle.
With the assignments made, Tartarus immediately summoned the Narak space and, taking Tregear and Diavolo with him, returned to the spacetime where Trigger resided.
