Volume One, Chapter 115: Self-Destruction!
With this thought in mind, Ultraman King could only hold onto a glimmer of hope as he called out to the New Generation warriors: "Ultra Warriors! Taiga, as a royal of the Land of Light, possesses the mighty power to unify light. It has come to this—I am counting on all of you!"
These few words instantly awakened Ginga and the others, who were struggling in the heat of battle. After a moment of stunned realization, Taiga’s expression turned to one of excitement. He remembered his father telling him that the Ultra Horns he was born with could converge the power of the Ultra Warriors, awakening the potential hidden deep within his body and unleashing unparalleled strength.
"Everyone, let’s try it!"
Ginga and the others were already prepared. They transformed into their strongest forms, pushing their light energy to the absolute limit. With no time to lose, Taiga flew toward his comrades, ready to receive the terrifying energy that was countless times greater than his own.
As the light converged, the starry cosmos—already heavy as a mountain from the clash between Tregear and Ultraman King—began to wail, as if screaming in agony at reaching its breaking point. If anyone were watching from the vastness beyond the battlefield, they would have seen space itself, spanning twenty thousand light-years with the Land of Light at its center, twisting and expanding madly.
As the new legend led by Taiga was born, this expansion finally reached its critical threshold. No one could perceive the violent turbulence of space, for at that moment, a blinding radiance filled everyone’s vision.
Taiga... no, a brand-new warrior had emerged.
Boiling with flame-like energy, he revealed his true form before the eyes of all. With gilded, noble armor, an awe-inspiring aura, and a majestic power that continued to climb until it registered in everyone’s senses, he stood as the very embodiment of strength.
"..." Tregear’s brow twitched violently as he stared fixedly at the newborn warrior: "Reiga!"
In his previous life, he had been defeated by Reiga, even while fused with Grimdo. But back then, he had been little more than a puppet, and his power was nowhere near as formidable as it was now. Sensing the power of legend, Ultraman King’s expression eased significantly, a flicker of joy appearing on his aged face.
At that moment, his gaze was drawn to another, even more powerful presence. Deep within the starfield, amidst the vast army of monsters, a point of compressed light burst outward.
"That... that is!" Ultraman King’s eyes trembled, but his heart became profoundly calm, the last traces of worry vanishing.
That light—Legend!
The emergence of such a powerful aura naturally caught Tregear’s attention. He looked over, his expression darkening. In a sense, Legend was a presence more powerful even than his current self.
For that was a power representing the will of the Great Universe; a being recognized by the laws and order of the cosmos. He and Grimdo, however, were ancient remnants cast aside by the era. Being unrecognized meant he was rejected by the source of the universe itself. Though the cosmic origin was formless and colorless, the pressure it could exert was no less than that of any legendary warrior. He had wanted to eliminate Cosmos precisely to prevent Legend from appearing, for only Legend could command the power of the cosmic source.
Tregear knew that it was no longer a matter of destroying the Land of Light; it would be impossible even to kill another Ultra Warrior today. Whether he could escape with his life had become an uncertainty.
"Ultraman King... Legend... Reiga... Mebius... Ultraman Zero!"
Tregear’s gaze swept over the warriors he named, and he reached a sudden resolution.
"Since I cannot change this world, then I shall destroy it entirely!"
Tregear’s expression turned savage, and the red light in his blood-colored eyes flickered frantically. The colossal Grimdo seemed to resonate with him, its entire body pulsing with an unstable energy magnetic field. Within this field, Tregear fused once more with Grimdo.
The next second, Grimdo’s upper body arched backward, and the abyss-like maw on its abdomen transformed into a starless purgatory.
"ROAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
The roar seemed to pierce the entire universe. The resulting sonic wave shattered the galaxies beyond the M78 Nebula into dust in an instant. The Ultra Warriors and the various alien beings at the center were left with their souls wiped blank. Only the strongest Ultra Warriors remained standing in the high heavens, though their eyes flickered with uncontrollable agitation as they looked at Grimdo and Tregear.
Ultraman King seemed to sense something, his face changing abruptly: "No, he is going to self-destruct!"
"Self-destruct?!"
The words shocked everyone present. They had seen stars and cosmic regions explode, but a legendary-level self-destruction was unprecedented. Behind that concept lay a catastrophe capable of annihilating the heavens and the earth.
Everyone realized the gravity of the situation, falling into a panic. Yet, the army led by Plasma Ginga displayed only a ruthless, exhilarating fervor. Destroying the Land of Light had been their life’s ambition. To witness this moment was to die without regrets. The factions led by Baltan, in particular, burned with unprecedented madness. The blood debt of two billion kin had to be repaid, even at the cost of their lives!
Of course, there were cowards among them who began to creep backward, preparing to flee. Noticing this, Varel struck out with his blade.
*Slash—*
The powerful dark blade carved a space-time rift tens of thousands of meters long in front of those trying to escape.
"Today, no one leaves!"
Varel’s voice boomed in the ears of every alien. His tone was not fast, but it was filled with absolute resolve. Before coming, Varel had already prepared for martyrdom. To die alongside Tregear and a legendary warrior was a supreme honor. And yet, beneath that honor, someone dared to flee?
Absolutely not! That was an insult to Lord Tregear!
Facing Varel’s cold, stern gaze, the aliens who had not moved but harbored thoughts of escape felt a chill run through their hearts. It seemed they were fated to be buried with Tregear today.
