Volume One, Chapter 107: Tartarus
Tartarus stood frozen, suddenly gripped by a foreboding sense of doom.
Before he could react, Rejudo raised his hand and began to gather the Spark Legend.
A tremendous surge of energy was instantly drawn from the void, coalescing into a storm capable of annihilating heaven and earth.
Boom—
A deafening blast erupted, the sound of space itself being violently compressed and detonated.
Tartarus jolted awake and hurriedly unleashed his Narak Fear, attempting to escape with his life.
He had never imagined that the fusion of those two Ultramen would wield a legendary power comparable to that of a king.
The storm swept over him, the terrifying sensation of being torn apart shaking his very soul.
Yet, by sheer luck, he managed to flee at the last second.
Boom—!
The Spark Legend exploded where he had just stood, carving out a bottomless chasm.
Such overwhelming power!
The four of them—Eddie and the others—swallowed hard in silent awe.
Jack rose to his feet, about to speak, but saw the dispersed energy of Rejudo fade as he transformed back into Gauss and Justice.
“Tartarus…” Gauss murmured, gazing into the distant void, his mood heavy.
He had already sensed grave trouble when Toregia had attacked earlier.
Now, even an Ultimate Lifeform had appeared.
Lost in thought, Gauss failed to notice, and so did Eddie and the others, that not far behind them, a pair of crimson eyes silently watched.
“An Ultimate Lifeform, huh,” Toregia muttered, a contemplative expression crossing his face before his palm glowed faintly and vanished into thin air.
…
An unknown time.
An unknown space.
“Move aside!”
The domineering and fierce voice evoked, in the mind’s eye, the image of a powerful warrior with a bold and rugged spirit.
The Ultraman Father, who had been pushed aside, had just turned his head when he saw Belial gathering energy. He shouted urgently, “Stop, Belial!”
No sooner had the words left his mouth than a devastating beam shot from Belial’s hand, instantly obliterating two already-surrendered aliens before him.
“You…” Ultraman Father froze, shouting angrily, “What are you doing? They’ve already surrendered!”
“Hmph!” Belial snorted disdainfully. “I always thought you were naïve. The Ampela aliens started this war; they are merely his underlings.”
“But…” Ultraman Father wanted to protest further but fell silent under Belial’s cold, sharp gaze.
Because what Belial said was not without merit.
This war had been ignited by the Ampela aliens. If they were released now, tomorrow they might again raise their weapons against the Ultramen.
“Enough. Let’s head back,” Belial said, cracking his neck before soaring into the sky.
Ultraman Father looked at him with complex emotions but had no choice but to follow.
No sooner had the two departed than a force tore open the space behind them.
Tartarus stepped out, watching the two distant figures fade away and murmured, “So he is Belial.”
“So he has crossed the timeline…”
The low murmur came from Toregia.
Since the moment he became Chaos, he had transcended time and space, traversing dimensions and timelines effortlessly.
But he had never entertained the thought of crossing time until he met Tartarus.
What did this Ultimate Lifeform hope to achieve by crossing temporal boundaries?
Moreover, this was the territory of the Land of Light.
Frowning slightly, Toregia gazed at the giant planet floating far away.
At that moment, Tartarus moved, heading straight toward the Land of Light.
Toregia concealed his presence, merging completely with the surrounding void, and silently followed.
“Let everything plunge into utter darkness. Destroy it all!”
The once-prosperous Land of Light was no more, replaced by a scene reminiscent of the apocalypse.
Within the war-torn city, dozens of Ultramen were besieging a formidable alien.
His power was immense; each strike claimed the life of an Ultraman.
Perhaps growing impatient, he swung his hand, unleashing a wave of energy that in an instant severed all the Ultramen directly ahead, erasing them in a burst of dark aura.
“Ah!”
A cry of pain escaped a young female warrior as the blast threw her backward, crashing to the ground.
Staring at the approaching Ampela alien with a deathly pale face, despair filled her heart.
Suddenly, two figures appeared before her.
“Are you alright?”
Upon hearing a familiar voice, Mary’s face brightened. “Ken!”
“It’s me.” Ultraman Father hurried to help her up, concern etched on his face. “Are you okay?”
“I’m fine,” Mary shook her head, finally breathing a sigh of relief. “I’ll leave this to you now.”
She had never been a warrior skilled in battle; facing the Ampela was a dead end.
“Don’t worry.” Ultraman Father gave her a resolute look, rising to stand beside Belial, ready to fight.
At that moment, Belial suddenly remarked, “She’s really beautiful—just my type.”
“…” Ultraman Father shot him a sidelong glance, sternly saying, “There’s no time for jokes now.”
“Heh.” Belial chuckled lightly, unabashedly revealing his thoughts. “A beautiful woman should be conquered by the strong.”
Clearly, by “strong,” he meant himself.
Ultraman Father said no more because the Ampela alien was charging at them!
“Hmph, two pawns dare to stand before me,” the Ampela shouted with imposing fury. “Since I have come personally, this planet is doomed!”
Ultraman Father and Belial were caught off guard and swiftly struck down by a barrage of attacks, pinned to the ground.
“This power… so strong!” Even the proud Belial couldn’t help but marvel. “Could this be the power of darkness?”
“Don’t falter, Belial,” Ultraman Father gasped. “If we fall here, not just the Land of Light but the entire universe will be destroyed.”
These words reached Toregia’s ears, prompting a snicker. “As expected, Taro’s innate sense of justice was inherited from Ultraman Father.”
Light is always so hypocritical and powerless.
Who told him that if the Ampela aliens ruled the universe, it would be doomed?
If that were true, the Dark Nebula would have been destroyed a hundred times over by now. Ha.
