Chapter Ninety-Five: Erosion
“So crass...” Yue Longze sneered inwardly. The moment he heard the coquettish, sing-song voice of the Reibloodian, his skin crawled with gooseflesh.
“I think... we should run while we still can...” Sas, standing nearby, wore a bitter expression as he murmured timidly.
“Have you already forgotten what I told you before?” Yue Longze chided him sharply, smacking Sas on the head in frustration. “An Ultra Warrior must always have the courage to press forward without hesitation!”
At those words, Sas clenched his fists, and the determination in his eyes slowly returned.
But then Yue Longze changed his tone. “Still, if there’s no need to die here, it’s best to live and run.”
Sas: .......
Indeed, with their current strength, the four of them were absolutely no match for the Reibloodian. They would be crushed without mercy.
Yue Longze could clearly sense the terrifying, overwhelming presence of the Reibloodian before him. More than that, the enemy existed as a spiritual body; ordinary attacks were utterly useless against him.
Yet the two Ultra Warriors from the Space Patrol seemed to know nothing of fear or death. They kept relentlessly firing beam attacks at the Reibloodian, and Yue Longze could only admire them.
This was the true Ultra Warrior of the Land of Light.
Justice, persistence, and the spirit of fearless advance were fully embodied in them.
Still... Yue Longze stepped forward and grabbed the arms of the two Space Patrol warriors, forcing their beam attacks to cease.
When escape was possible, one should try to survive. But in front of the things one must protect, even death could not make one retreat.
But now... protect what, exactly?
That abandoned planet?
That was Yue Longze’s thought.
“Let’s go! There’s no reason to die here now!”
“Damn it!”
The warrior who looked remarkably like Ultraman Jack was unwilling. “Next time, I’ll definitely kill you, you disgusting bastard!”
“None of the four of you are getting away!”
The Reibloodian suddenly roared, then turned into a cloud of black motes that surged violently into Yue Longze’s body.
“Senior!”
Sas cried out at the sight.
A searing pressure flooded Yue Longze’s head, followed by excruciating pain.
“Gah—!”
Yue Longze dropped to his knees in agony, clutching his head with both hands.
“Get out of my body—get out!”
Dark smoke billowed from every inch of Yue Longze’s body, surrounding him with a suffocating evil aura.
He was fighting the Reibloodian within, struggling desperately in the vast, abyssal darkness of space.
“Tsk, tsk... what marvelous, utterly pure dark energy. Far superior to the mixed impurities found elsewhere in the universe!”
The Reibloodian was completely intoxicated by the pure dark energy within Yue Longze.
“Give up resisting! To be personally possessed by the great Reibloodian is an honor for you!”
The Reibloodian continued eroding Yue Longze’s will, seizing his body bit by bit.
“I don’t need the approval of some disgusting thing like you!”
Yue Longze rolled across the abandoned planet, smashing his head again and again against the planet’s hard surface, wracked with unbearable pain.
But as a former overlord of the universe, how could the Reibloodian be anything less than terrifyingly powerful? The current Yue Longze was no match for him.
“This is bad. His spirit body has been invaded by the Reibloodian!”
The warrior who resembled Ultraman Jack spoke with a grave expression.
“Let’s try passing our light to him!”
With that, the other Space Patrol warrior immediately unleashed his light energy toward Yue Longze, who was suffering in torment.
Sas and the Jack-like Ultra Warrior followed at once, releasing their own light energy as well.
What they had not expected was that the instant their light touched Yue Longze’s body, it was violently repelled. It had no effect at all.
“Senior, what do we do now?” Seeing that the method had failed, Sas grew anxious and turned to the two Space Patrol veterans, hoping they still had a solution.
Yue Longze had saved his life more than once. At this moment, Sas was deeply worried about him.
But the two Ultra Warriors of the Space Patrol could only let out heavy sighs and shake their heads.
Faced with the ruthless and monstrously powerful Reibloodian, even they were helpless.
While they were sighing, Yue Longze suddenly stood up and remained motionless where he was.
“Senior!”
Seeing Yue Longze stand there unharmed, Sas immediately ran toward him in excitement.
“Don’t go near him, Sas!”
The Ultra Warrior who had shared his energy with Yue Longze tried to stop him, because he noticed that something about Yue Longze was off.
His whole aura was incredibly evil.
But Sas was far too young to notice any of it.
Boom!
Yue Longze’s fist met Sas full force, sending him flying backward like a launched shell.
“Sas!”
The Jack-like Ultra Warrior rushed forward and caught him.
Confusion filled Sas’s eyes as he murmured, “Why... senior...?”
“Oh my, what a wonderful body!”
Yue Longze advanced slowly toward Sas and the others, studying his own body as he spoke to himself.
“Not good. His consciousness has been completely taken over by the Reibloodian!”
Strange molten-red patterns began spreading across Yue Longze’s body, and his originally milky-white eyes gradually turned bloodred.
His fingers, too, grew chillingly sharp, like Belial’s claws.
Hideous.
“I told you, none of you will be returning to the Land of Light.”
With his body occupied by the Reibloodian, Yue Longze let out a sinister laugh, his eyes glinting with wicked, seductive light.
Only then did Sas finally react.
“Get out of Senior’s body!”
Furious, Sas lunged forward and wrapped both arms tightly around Yue Longze. Light exploded from his entire body, making even the abandoned planet shine brilliantly.
“Senior!”
Sas strained to pour out his light, trying to purify Yue Longze.
But it was useless.
With the Reibloodian possessing him, Yue Longze’s power suddenly surged, exceeding even the state enhanced by Camilia’s golden power.
His body gave a slight tremor, and Sas was once again blasted backward like a rocket, slamming heavily into the ground and kicking up clouds of dust.
“Damn it!”
Even the two Space Patrol warriors had not expected such a turn of events, and now their hearts were filled with anger and frustration.
A powerful energy sphere, accompanied by violent ripples of power, condensed in Yue Longze’s palm. With a casual flick, it shot toward Sas and the others.
