Chapter One Hundred Nineteen: Seeking the Lost Light
After being unconscious for over a day, Yuelong Ze and Zero emerged from the Ultra Clinic, standing side by side as they exchanged words.
Yet, neither Yuelong Ze nor Zero displayed the joy one might expect from having defeated Queen Kirielode. That was because a far more terrifying force awaited them—Zoda, alongside the evil warrior Belial, whose strength rivaled their own.
Moreover, the cosmic situation remained grim. Monsters continued their rampant destruction, and the mass-produced Dark Lops roamed unchecked across the stars.
The universe was still thick with the scent of gunpowder.
Danger persisted.
...
At the same time, the mention of "that great one" by Queen Kirielode left Yuelong Ze puzzled. He confided in Zero, who pondered for a moment and deduced that the "great one" likely referred to Zoda.
"Could it really be Zoda?" Yuelong Ze wondered aloud. "Why am I the one Kirielode sought? And why was I to be captured and offered to that great one?"
He replayed Kirielode’s words repeatedly, sifting through the fragments for clues, his gaze shadowed with doubt. Something about this was not as straightforward as it seemed.
It was very likely connected to the “invisible hands” the Elder Ultra King had once mentioned—those unseen forces pulling strings behind the scenes.
...
Burdened by uncertainty, Yuelong Ze once again examined his current condition.
The pure dark energy he had sensed before seemed to have vanished from within him—disappeared as suddenly as it had erupted.
Yet Yuelong Ze was unwilling to let go. That power was peculiar; its presence was not overwhelming, but it was exquisitely pure. He refused to lose it so easily.
After prolonged effort, he managed to detect the faint essence of that dark energy again but found he could not wield it. The energy’s aura was restrained, elusive to sense, yet it conveyed a feeling of endless vitality.
Yuelong Ze contemplated deeply.
"Darkness... ceaseless, ever-flowing darkness," he murmured, sensing he had glimpsed a fragment of its profound truth.
He then tried to transform again into a stronger form of light, but despite his efforts, nothing changed.
Seeing this, Zero patted Yuelong Ze’s shoulder reassuringly.
"The power that belongs to you will return in time."
...
Resigned, Yuelong Ze could only accept the reality, feeling a pang of regret. For now, his dark form’s strength still lagged behind the light form granted by the Plasma Spark Tower.
Additionally, the spiritual presence of the Rebrand Star being inside him remained a lingering threat. Despite the suppressive power of the Cluster Sword, Yuelong Ze worried deeply.
Anyone would feel the same—who could endure harboring such a malevolent spiritual entity within their own body?
...
"Must the Cluster Sword always be used merely to restrain the Rebrand spirit?" Yuelong Ze sighed, overwhelmed by helplessness.
The Rebrand Star being was formidable, and Yuelong Ze had no way to purge it yet.
He resolved that once all the Ultra Brothers had recovered, he would ask them to join forces and attempt to exorcise the Rebrand’s spiritual essence.
Though the odds of success were slim, he had to try.
Because if the Cluster Sword could be freed, his combat power would soar.
...
Yuelong Ze and Zero returned once more to stand beneath the Plasma Spark Tower, bathed in its cleansing light.
Zero looked serene and radiant under the tower’s glow, his body completely restored and shining with a faint, sacred light.
Yuelong Ze tried again to draw the light’s power from the tower, but it remained unresponsive. The light only served to invigorate his still-weak body.
“It seems I truly have lost the power of light...” Yuelong Ze’s voice was low, tinged with undeniable disappointment.
“Sometimes, power simply lies dormant within you. It has already merged with your being—it’s not so easily lost.”
...
“Eh?” Surprised by the voice, Yuelong Ze turned around.
“Elder Ultra King!”
“Old Ultra King!” Both he and Zero stared in astonishment at the Ultra King, who had appeared silently.
Neither had sensed his arrival; his presence was so formidable that if he had been an enemy, they would have been ambushed long ago.
Snapping back to attention, Yuelong Ze asked eagerly, “So… does that mean I can regain the power of light?”
Yuelong Ze looked at the Ultra King with renewed hope.
The Ultra King nodded, his crimson cloak fluttering gently, radiating solemn majesty.
“In these times, only by ceaseless battle can one glimpse the dawn of hope,” the Ultra King declared, his gaze stern on Yuelong Ze and Zero.
“Your fight is far from over.”
...
Yuelong Ze and Zero nodded resolutely, their eyes blazing with fighting spirit.
The Ultra King vanished as mysteriously as he had come, like a dragon glimpsed only fleetingly, leaving behind these words.
“Then... find your light again through battle.”
Zero said earnestly to Yuelong Ze. Clenching his fists, Yuelong Ze nodded in agreement, and together they soared back into the vast cosmos.
...
In the boundless expanse of space, countless stars shimmered, their multicolored lights painting a breathtaking scene.
To protect these beautiful worlds, Yuelong Ze and Zero fought fiercely on a desolate, abandoned planet.
Waves of monsters infected by dark energy relentlessly attacked them.
They split to face the onslaught separately, confronting wave after wave of beasts.
The warriors’ fierce battle cries mingled with the monsters’ roars, echoing across the barren world.
Though in his dark form, Yuelong Ze remained formidable; these monsters were mere pests in his eyes.
After slaying wave upon wave, a stronger force emerged—mass-produced Dark Lops.
Yuelong Ze’s eyes burned with battle frenzy; monster corpses and severed limbs of the Dark Lops flew through the air. Bloodied and unyielding, his invincible aura flared anew.
The battlefield around him resembled a hellish Asura realm, littered with broken limbs and shattered bodies—a terrifying scene.
Zero’s side fared no better. The mountain of fallen monsters grew, especially the mass-produced Dark Lops modeled after himself—Zero singled them out with relentless focus, their deaths far outnumbering the others.
...
After defeating this wave, Yuelong Ze and Zero roamed the cosmos again, hunting new foes, constantly refining their skills and growing stronger.
Along the way, they encountered several Ultra Warriors from the Land of Light, each fiercely battling monsters or Dark Lops.
When necessary, Yuelong Ze and Zero lent aid to weaker Ultra Warriors.
Yet more often than not, they refrained from intervening.
For only through true battle could one continuously grow.
