Chapter 118: The Slaying of the God

Yue Longze seemed to transform entirely into a sharp blade of light, charging toward the Kyrieloid God with ferocious momentum.

The Kyrieloid God’s defense was strained; he was desperately and laboriously retracting the rampaging energy he had unleashed to reinforce the vulnerable hub on his head. But the speed of this retraction was far too slow compared to the speed of Yue Longze’s blade.

"Shhh—!"

With a sharp, piercing sound, the purple-black energy blade in Yue Longze’s right hand struck the glowing hub on the Kyrieloid God’s head with unerring precision. Protecting the hub was a thin energy shield—weak, at least, relative to the vast, overwhelming power the entity possessed. It was only a small fraction of energy that the Kyrieloid God had managed to pull back in the nick of time.

Yue Longze felt as though his blade had struck a cold, hard stone, but he continued to exert force, breaking through the defense point by point.

Meanwhile, the power of the black energy sphere released by the Kyrieloid God had plummeted, significantly easing the pressure on Taro, though he dared not relax. The Cosmo Miracle Ray remained locked in a stalemate with the sphere, but it was clearly less of a struggle than before.

Yue Longze gave his all, focusing every ounce of his strength into his right hand, yet the defense on the Kyrieloid God’s head showed no signs of breaking.

"Damn it...!"

With an angry roar from Yue Longze, the pure dark energy that had erupted earlier surged spontaneously into his right arm.

"Whoosh!"

Bolstered by this pure dark energy, the defense at the glowing hub began to shatter at a speed visible to the naked eye. The Kyrieloid God instinctively tried to tilt his head away, but Yue Longze’s blade was already embedded deep within the hub, locking him firmly in place. There was no escaping it.

Fear began to take root in the Kyrieloid God’s heart, and his body started to tremble uncontrollably. "How could a great god perish like this?" He feared death; once that glowing hub was destroyed, his life would end.

"You will pay the price!" Yue Longze declared sternly, driving the blade deeper into the hub.

The Kyrieloid God felt his life force draining away, his vitality withering. He was filled with resentment. Had he not been blinded by rage and cast that destructive black energy sphere—tying up all his power within it—he would never have been the one to die.

Suddenly, the Kyrieloid God began to laugh—a crazed, manic laugh. To Yue Longze, the laughter sounded insane, seemingly laced with a note of mockery.

Yue Longze could not comprehend it, but he could not afford to dwell on it either. He surged more energy into his blade, driving it deeper. As the hub suffered irreversible damage, the Kyrieloid God’s form grew translucent, his life force fading rapidly.

"Whoosh—"

Like a gentle breeze passing by, the Kyrieloid God’s body scattered like dust. He was dead; the once invincible Kyrieloid God was gone.

However, although the Kyrieloid God was dead, the black energy sphere he had created remained. Taro was still burning his own life force, maintaining a delicate, balanced stalemate with the sphere via the Cosmo Miracle Ray.

Yue Longze’s eyes narrowed. Sensing the remaining pure dark energy in his right hand, he used it to unleash a beam to assist Taro.

... Dark Zeperion Ray!

With Yue Longze’s intervention, the fragile balance was shattered. Super Taro’s Cosmo Miracle Ray, combined with Yue Longze’s Dark Zeperion Ray, blasted the black energy sphere back, steadily shrinking its power. Eventually, when the power was reduced to a negligible level, Yue Longze and Taro stopped their attack in mutual understanding, as the energy expenditure was too great to justify further depletion.

"Boom!"

An explosion echoed, and another magnificent building in the Land of Light was reduced to rubble. But Yue Longze and Taro let out heavy sighs of relief; compared to the destruction of the entire Land of Light, this result was a blessing.

The sound of the explosion faded, and both Yue Longze and Taro collapsed to the ground. The exhaustion for both of them was simply too great. Above Taro’s head, the crescent-shaped horns pulsed with light, and the four Ultra Brothers who had lent him their energy appeared on the ground, all looking utterly drained.

At that moment, Yue Longze, the Ultra Brothers, Zero, Mirror Knight, and the others lay scattered across the ground like corpses, their color timers flashing frantically in unison. For a time, the entire Land of Light was filled with the rhythmic warning chime of those timers.

"The god has been slain!" someone shouted.

A crowd swarmed toward the direction of Yue Longze and the others, quickly rushing to provide medical aid to the heroes who had saved the Land of Light. The great crisis of the Land of Light had, for the moment, come to an end.

When Yue Longze woke up, he found himself on a crystal-like medical bed, still in his transformed state.

"You're awake!" A gentle, joyful female voice reached his ears.

"Where is this..." Yue Longze’s voice sounded weak.

"The Ultra Clinic!" the young female Ultra replied quickly. "You just woke up. Although your injuries have been treated, your body is still weak, so you need more rest!"

Yue Longze gave a faint "Oh" and nodded in gratitude. He glanced at his color timer and saw that it had returned to a steady, vibrant blue. He turned his head to the left and saw several other beds in a row. Lying on them were the still-unconscious Ultra Brothers, as well as Zero and his Ultimate Force Zero.

As if sensing Yue Longze’s gaze, Zero began to stir.

"Cough, cough..." Zero coughed slightly and then sat up with practiced ease. His condition was slightly better than Yue Longze’s.

"Ah, that’s wonderful, Zero is awake too!" The young female Ultra became even more delighted, rushing toward Zero with a skip in her step.

"You're up, Zero!" Yue Longze said, sliding off his bed with a smile.

"Looks like you were the first one to wake up, kid!" Zero said, reaching out to punch Yue Longze lightly on the chest.
