In the deep and mysterious reaches of space, two figures lay motionless upon an abandoned planet, the blinking red lights on their chests the only sign that they were still alive.

“There they are! Found them!”

“Good!”

Two Ultra Warriors from the Land of Light had been fighting elsewhere in the cosmos, but the moment they received the Ultra Sign sent by the young warrior Sas, they rushed over at once.

“Looks like you’re going to make it after all, Sas.”

Yue Longze, who lay on the ground, sensed the two Warriors from the Land of Light even before Sas did.

Sas said nothing. His energy was truly on the verge of exhaustion.

Whoosh—

The two rescuers landed on the abandoned planet where Yue Longze and Sas lay, and the heavy force of their descent sent tremors rippling through the planet’s surface.

Yue Longze slowly sat up. The dim, lifelessness in his eyes suddenly burst into brilliant white light.

He did not need rescuing from these two Ultra Warriors; he had already recovered somewhat on his own.

“Are you all right?”

One of them, a warrior who bore a striking resemblance to Jack Ultraman, ran over first.

As he spoke, he separated a gentle stream of light from his own Energy Timer and fed it to Sas, whose power was clearly nearly spent.

After receiving that soft radiance, the young warrior on the ground, who had seemed already at death’s door, gradually began to recover. Though the energy timer on his chest was still flashing and beeping, his presence had grown noticeably stronger than before.

“I’m sorry. I don’t have much energy left either.”

The warrior who looked like Jack Ultraman apologized, regretting that he could not restore Sas’s Energy Timer to its full blue brilliance.

“No, no, no, this is already more than enough. Thank you, Senior!”

At that moment, the other warrior stepped forward as well, preparing to share some of his own energy with Yue Longze, the strangely colored Ultra Warrior.

Seeing this, Yue Longze quickly shook his head to refuse.

“Your energy is precious too. I’m still fine!”

After saying that, he stood up together with Sas beside him.

“It’s all right. Take my energy!”

The warrior thought Yue Longze was merely being polite and continued to urge him with unflagging enthusiasm.

Under such persistent insistence, Yue Longze could only accept the other Ultra Warrior’s energy with a wry smile.

That gentle light slowly flowed into his timer. This was the first time Yue Longze had formally received energy from a warrior of the Land of Light.

Back when he had undergone Zero’s training on that planet with one hundred times Earth’s gravity, Zero had once infused him with energy as well, but that time had been casual and hasty; Zero had merely sent the power into Yue Longze’s leg, easing the soreness there.

This time was different. This time, the energy was directly poured into the timer on Yue Longze’s chest.

And after the energy carrying the aura of light entered his timer, it was transformed in an instant into pure dark energy.

...

“This is...”

Yue Longze vaguely remembered that Dark Tiga could absorb beams of light and convert them into his own power.

In the theatrical film Final Battle, Daigo had used that absorption-and-transformation ability to return from Dark Tiga back to Tiga of Light.

But Yue Longze had never known how to use such an ability himself.

Could this situation count as that sort of transformation?

Turning light into darkness.

Yue Longze felt a little confused, but at the moment he had no desire to think about it too much.

After moving his limbs, now filled once more with vitality, he found that after receiving the Ultra Warrior’s energy, he had basically recovered. He then exchanged a few words with the two enthusiastic warriors.

From them, Yue Longze learned that the two of them belonged to the Space Patrol. They were security personnel selected from the All-Galaxy Branch, responsible for supporting the Space Garrison and gathering intelligence. Because they wandered the cosmos year-round, they had never met Yue Longze before.

Of course, in these turbulent times across the universe, even support personnel had no choice but to join the battle.

“All right, then let’s go back to the Land of Light and replenish our energy!” the Jack-like warrior suggested.

Yue Longze nodded in agreement. Naturally, he no longer needed to replenish his own energy; his purpose was to find Zero.

As for whether Zero was even in the Land of Light, that was another matter entirely.

When Yue Longze had spoken with the two Space Patrol warriors earlier, he had asked about Zero’s whereabouts, but they had said they did not know. After all, they scarcely ever stayed in the Land of Light.

...

“Heh-heh-heh—”

A strange, eerie laugh drifted into everyone’s ears.

“What was that?”

The warrior who resembled Jack Ultraman exclaimed in alarm.

Yue Longze did not speak, but he was already on full alert. In this increasingly chaotic universe, one had to remain constantly wary of monsters and mass-produced Darklops units that could appear at any moment.

Suddenly, a massive phantom figure appeared high above in space. From its appearance, it did not seem to be a monster, but rather an alien.

A pair of horn-like protrusions, shaped almost like pincers, grew from its head. Its body was formed of blue and silver, and its bewitching eyes kept emitting a faint yellow glow.

It gave off an intensely sinister feeling.

“It’s Alien Reiblood!”

Sas and the others recognized the intruder even before Yue Longze did.

Alien Reiblood was a terrifying existence, one that had once dominated the universe for tens of thousands of years.

By spreading Reiblood cells across the cosmos, or by possessing others with its soul and seeking out new heirs to reclaim its rule over the universe, it was one of the most vicious and dreadful beings in space.

Even now, though its body no longer existed, its spiritual form still remained.

“I think it would be best if none of you returned to the Land of Light,” Alien Reiblood said calmly. Its faint yellow, sinister eyes seemed to put even the mind itself on edge.

Yue Longze’s gaze sharpened. He knew of Alien Reiblood. The evil warrior Belial had become what he was because of it.

Was this the troublesome new enemy Sas had spoken of earlier?

Indeed, Alien Reiblood would not be easy to deal with.

“You disgusting thing!”

The Jack-like Ultra Warrior cursed furiously and struck first, rapidly crossing his arms and firing a direct Spacium Beam at it!

But the Spacium Beam he unleashed fell into the void like a stone sinking into the sea, causing not the slightest ripple and inflicting no damage whatsoever on Alien Reiblood.

“Oh, oh, oh. So this is the quality of your Ultra race?” Alien Reiblood mocked. “How can you go around attacking a weakling like me when I don’t even have a body anymore?”
