Chapter 114: The Ambush of Kirielord the Divine
The Kyrieloid God was relentless. Seeing his strike, which should have pierced Yue Longze’s most vulnerable neck, miss its mark, he immediately lashed out with another dark, ferocious claw.
"Clang!"
Yue Longze hurriedly raised his sword to parry once again.
"Whoosh!"
The immense force of the Kyrieloid God sent Yue Longze flying backward.
"Damn it!"
Stabilizing his footing, Yue Longze roared. Unleashing his full combat power, he dashed forward, employing his ghostly, unpredictable footwork combined with the Jinglong Sword Style.
Facing the elusive footwork and the lightning-fast sword strikes, the Kyrieloid God remained composed. His combat experience was seasoned; within a few exchanges, he had already mapped out Yue Longze’s movements and sword patterns. The pattern of the ghost-step had been completely deciphered by the Kyrieloid God. As for the pride of the Jinglong Sword Style—its speed—it seemed mediocre in his eyes, making it easy to track the trajectory of each strike.
"Boom!"
Struck in the abdomen, Yue Longze was sent reeling through the air. The Kyrieloid God was a perfect fusion of speed and power. Yue Longze was being completely suppressed!
Mirror Knight, Glen Fire, Jean-bot, and Jean-nine each unleashed their signature finishing moves, but they were all easily evaded by the Kyrieloid God’s incredible speed. In turn, the four were struck down one by one by his phantom-like movements.
Yue Longze took it all in. Clutching his aching abdomen with his left hand, he gritted his teeth and struggled to stand. The opponent was too fast, and his offensive power was overwhelming.
"I must restrict his speed!" Yue Longze thought to himself.
He silently channeled his energy to evenly coat his torso, the area most susceptible to attack, enhancing its defensive capabilities. Combined with the durability he had honed over years of training in subspace, Yue Longze braced himself for a brutal onslaught. He extinguished his energy sword, crouched slightly, and focused his entire attention on the Kyrieloid God.
The Kyrieloid God stared at Yue Longze with a cold sneer. "You are truly persistent."
He shot forward like a bullet, his momentum surging. Facing such blistering speed, Yue Longze could not react in time; before him, countless black claws seemed to dance. But Yue Longze knew those were merely afterimages left by the creature's extreme velocity.
Yue Longze felt his entire body being pummeled, especially his torso, which took the brunt of the strikes. He was grateful that he had channeled his energy to reinforce his defenses; otherwise, he likely would have been knocked unconscious by now. As he endured the beating, Mirror Knight, who had fallen nearby, struggled to stand, only to be knocked down again by the Kyrieloid God. This further highlighted the terrifying speed of the enemy.
"Is this approaching the speed of teleportation?" Yue Longze wondered in shock.
To be able to effortlessly toy with him while simultaneously striking down Mirror Knight and the others—what terrifying speed! Yet, Yue Longze remained hyper-focused, waiting for an opening—a chance to bind the Kyrieloid God.
"Whoosh!" "Bang!" "Boom!"
Yue Longze continued to suffer heavy blows. Even with his current resilience, he was reaching his limit; he felt as if he were on the verge of losing consciousness.
"Damn it... expose a weakness already!"
Yue Longze gritted his teeth, his endurance pushed to the breaking point. The Kyrieloid God, meanwhile, was surprised by Yue Longze’s constitution. Was this the unique trait of a body possessing the purest, flawless dark energy? Although he hadn't landed a killing blow, anyone else would have been incapacitated by now, just like the others lying on the ground. This piqued the Kyrieloid God’s curiosity. He wanted to see just how many strikes this special body could withstand before collapsing. With that thought, he focused even more intently, making the chance of him exposing a weakness even smaller.
"Continue to enjoy the assault of the great Kyrieloid God!"
The Kyrieloid God pressed his attack.
"Sizzle!"
A sudden, thin green beam struck the ground in front of Yue Longze, leaving a deep, charred, smoking hole in the crystal-like surface of the Land of Light.
"Who dares to interfere with the work of the great Kyrieloid God!"
The Kyrieloid God ceased his assault and looked up in anger. Several red or red-and-silver figures appeared in his sight—it was the Ultra Brothers, who had finally arrived. The beam had been Seven’s Emerium Ray.
Normally, the Ultra Brothers should have arrived at the Land of Light before Yue Longze and his companions, but on their journey back, they had encountered a massive swarm of monsters infected by dark energy—hundreds of them. To conserve their strength for the crisis at home, they had chosen to detour. After a long bypass, they finally arrived, only to witness the Kyrieloid God pummeling Yue Longze. Knowing that Yue Longze’s strength already surpassed their own, yet seeing him being utterly crushed, alongside the fallen Zero, Zoffy, and the others, these battle-hardened veterans realized that this crisis would be extremely troublesome. Unless the mysterious Ultraman King intervened, the situation was dire.
"A perfect opportunity!"
Yue Longze seized the split second the Kyrieloid God was distracted by Seven’s attack. He lunged, wrapping his limbs around the creature’s body from behind. His strong, powerful limbs locked the Kyrieloid God in a vice grip. Energy surged from the Color Timer on his chest as he concentrated every ounce of his remaining power.
"Whoosh!"
As his energy peaked, Yue Longze released his grip on the creature’s torso but kept his legs firmly locked around him, instantly bringing his arms into an "L" shape.
Zeperion Ray!
The Zeperion Ray in his Light Form was Yue Longze’s most powerful beam, and this particular strike contained nearly all of his remaining energy.
"You so-called god! Go to hell!"
The devastating ray grazed the back of the Kyrieloid God’s head. The Ultra Brothers watched with bated breath, unsure if the attack would succeed and afraid to intervene themselves. Because Yue Longze and the Kyrieloid God were locked in such close proximity, any attack from them could easily strike Yue Longze instead.
