Chapter 95: Find It
Li Changluo stared at the thing in Lin Dandan’s hand and was stunned.
It took him a long moment to recover. “What the hell is that?”
“Oh, right. I forgot that a little demon with your level of demonic power can’t see it.”
Lin Dandan adjusted his glasses and said to Li Changluo with a hint of apology.
Li Changluo almost exploded. Who the hell were you looking down on?
What was wrong with his demonic power?
Had you ever seen negative demonic power?
Still, maybe neither Lin Dandan nor the shopkeeper had the kind of perception that someone like Little Green possessed.
Otherwise, they would have been scared stiff by his negative demonic power long ago.
Carefully, Lin Dandan moved the hand that was holding the object aside, then...
He spat into his other palm.
“What are you doing?”
“Don’t come any closer...”
“I saw it, I really saw it. There’s something in your hand...”
“Damn it, that’s so disgusting...”
Li Changluo was tied up and still struggling desperately, because Lin Dandan was bringing that saliva-soaked hand toward his face, and then smearing it across his eyelids.
Like applying a face mask, only far more evenly, far more carefully...
In an instant, Li Changluo’s eyelids were covered in Lin Dandan’s spit.
Why did this scene feel so familiar? Wasn’t this exactly what ordinary people did when they couldn’t see the “dirty things” around them?
They would usually smear a little ox tears on their eyelids as a medium for spiritual sight.
Damn it, why were you called Lin Dandan...
You should be called Ox Dandan...
At that moment, Li Changluo was like a girl who had been utterly violated, too weak to resist anymore.
He could only let Lin Dandan smear saliva over him.
After doing this beastly, inhuman thing, Lin Dandan brought the hand holding the object back in front of Li Changluo again.
“Now then, you can see it at last, right?”
Lin Dandan looked utterly smitten.
Li Changluo felt his eyelids wet and slick and disgusting.
But right now, all his attention was fixed on the thing in Lin Dandan’s hand.
In his palm was a singed strand of hair.
Li Changluo stared dumbly. Holy hell...
The burned hair had curled up, but its color was still a vivid, brilliant gold.
It even shimmered...
How was this scene so familiar? Wasn’t this just like when ordinary people could not see the filthy things beside them...
They would smear a bit of ox tears on their eyelids to serve as a conduit for spirit sight?
Damn it, Lin Dandan...
You should be called Ox Dandan...
“Wow, what is that? I have absolutely no idea.”
Li Changluo blinked. The expression on his face, full of eager curiosity, was simply...
Utterly shameless.
They were all shut-ins. Why bother pretending?
Lin Dandan pushed his glasses up. He understood exactly what Li Changluo was thinking upon seeing this thing, but this strand of hair really was not what Li Changluo imagined.
“All you need to do is find an identical strand of hair, and your task will be complete.”
Carefully, Lin Dandan pinched up the singed hair and held it closer to Li Changluo so he could examine it properly.
“Move it away...”
“If you keep this up, I’m calling the police.”
Li Changluo felt a wave of nausea rise in his stomach, but what he found even harder to accept was this:
I still have to find an identical strand of hair?
How am I supposed to find it?
And it has to be burned?
What kind of human being would even do something like this?
He’d get beaten for it...
With the power of his imagination running wild, Li Changluo actually laughed in anger when he pictured himself searching for hair.
“Cough, cough. Don’t overthink it. This is just ordinary demon hair, not what you’re imagining.”
Lin Dandan carefully placed the hair in his palm. He felt he ought to explain it to Li Changluo, or this would be impossible to recover from.
“This is hair singed by the shopkeeper’s fire. All you need to do is find a demon among the people in this trial who has hair exactly like this, and your mission will be finished.”
Lin Dandan pointed very seriously at the golden strand in his hand as he explained it to Li Changluo.
“The shopkeeper could just burn it himself. Wouldn’t that be much easier? Why go to such lengths, threatening me and scheming just to come find a little demon with low power? Won’t you tell me why?”
Li Changluo gave Bai Lianhua a suspicious look. She was standing there like a spectator enjoying the show, saying nothing at all.
She looked as if she were thinking: I don’t know what you two are talking about with all this hair nonsense. I’m very innocent, and I don’t understand. So I’ll just watch you two.
“Dandan, why not tell him? It wouldn’t be fair to him if he didn’t know the truth.”
Bai Lianhua looked at Lin Dandan imploringly.
Lin Dandan thought he must have heard wrong, and stared at the shopkeeper in shock.
“As long as the mission is completed, we can just silence him afterward,” Bai Lianhua said with a faint smile that made the heart go soft.
...
...
Looking back on the years gone by, youth is like a few thin sheets of paper. It can only be compressed into a handful of hurried shots in a film.
The excitement and the anticipation seem like yesterday; youth and today feel separated only by a single night. How did the train of time pass so swiftly through the platform of youth?
And before we had even had time to savor the scenery of that platform, we had already stumbled, dazed and bewildered, onto the next station.
Li Changluo suddenly grew deeply sentimental. His gaze turned melancholy as he spoke to himself in a string of words that made no sense whatsoever.
“Why... are you saying this?”
Even Bai Lianhua was left dumbfounded.
Li Changluo merely smiled faintly.
He smiled, but said nothing.
Inside, she was panicking.
He had nearly received the full murder-and-silence package.
Damn it, I don’t even know why I’m saying this.
Still, after a little inspirational drivel, doesn’t the atmosphere suddenly feel much more harmonious?
Putting on an air of profound mystery always makes people unable to see through you.
That was the tactic Li Changluo had come to rely on.
Sure enough, Bai Lianhua and Lin Dandan were both left completely bewildered, still carefully savoring the hidden meaning beneath Li Changluo’s little speech.
“You mean...”
“The reward for doing this for us?”
Bai Lianhua suddenly understood and clapped her hands.
Li Changluo’s eyes nearly fell out of his head. What the hell kind of leap was that?
Even I don’t know what I was trying to say.
How did you manage to hear that I wanted a reward?
I was only asking for a reason to help you, and you were already going to silence me forever.
I don’t look the least bit like I’m asking for a reward...
Without even thinking, Li Changluo was ready to flatly refuse Bai Lianhua’s unreasonable request.
However...
“Of course. If you want a reward, Big Sister won’t treat you badly.”
Bai Lianhua said to herself.
Then she circled around the tied-up Li Changluo, and gently pressed that fair face close to his.
Her cheeks flushed like peach blossoms, Bai Lianhua was exceedingly alluring, and Li Changluo felt his whole body going soft...
“Come out. Hiding inside someone’s body must feel uncomfortable, doesn’t it?”
Bai Lianhua gave a soft laugh and rolled up her sleeve with delicate grace.
Hiding inside someone’s body?
Damn it, could it be that I...
This morning, the buns I hid in the kitchen had been discovered?
