“Come, over here.” Noritz raised his hand, pointing toward the only table inside the room, then walked over, with Lin Wei following closely behind.

The table looked no different from any ordinary one. Various experimental instruments were scattered across its surface, along with two iron cages, each housing several small gray mice. The little creatures scurried about restlessly, squeaking softly.

Lin Wei trailed Noritz to the table.

“We’re going to run a test now.”

“What kind of test?”

Lin Wei’s gaze fixed on the anxious little mice within the cages.

Noritz did not answer immediately. Instead, he opened a small door atop one cage, reached in, and pulled out a struggling little mouse.

He picked up a test tube filled with a pale blue liquid, popped the cork with a soft “pop,” and poured the liquid into the mouse’s mouth.

The mouse resisted with all its might, but still, it was forced to swallow nearly half the tube’s contents.

Noritz’s face remained expressionless. Like discarding trash, he tossed the mouse onto the table.

The mouse lay there utterly exhausted, its body sprawled on the surface, eyes devoid of any spark, only occasionally twitching.

Lin Wei said nothing, silently watching alongside Noritz as they awaited the mouse’s response.

Suddenly, the mouse’s fur began seeping a layer of black, oily substance. Within moments, its coat was completely stained black. Alongside this, the life force emanating from the mouse steadily diminished.

“Hm?” Lin Wei observed the transformation thoughtfully. “The test subject’s vitality is waning, but after declining to a certain point, it stabilizes…”

“Come, Lin Wei,” Noritz said, shifting his gaze from the mouse to Lin Wei. “Restore its life force.”

Lin Wei glanced at Noritz and nodded gently.

Noritz had not explained how to restore the mouse’s vitality, clearly expecting Lin Wei to deduce the method.

Lin Wei cupped the mouse in his palm, then addressed the intelligent sphere core: “Core, initiate detection on this test mouse.”

“Detecting… detection complete…”

As the images transmitted from the sphere entered his mind, Lin Wei instantly understood the cause of the mouse’s changes. “The special agent injected earlier expelled and compressed the life energy within the cells, causing most of it to dissipate. Only a small portion remains stored in the cells, sustaining the mouse’s life…”

“In that case…” Lin Wei glanced at the various bottles and jars on the table. “Many of these must be agents that stimulate life energy…”

“Core, based on the instruments and potions on the table, please provide a plan to stimulate the test mouse’s life energy.” Lin Wei commanded silently.

“Collecting experimental data… data collection complete… formulating optimal stimulation plan… plan completed.”

Lin Wei’s retina was instantly filled with a soft blue glow, displaying a wealth of experimental data.

He gently placed the mouse on the table and slipped on a pair of white gloves.

“Hm?” Noritz looked at Lin Wei with some surprise. “You’ve already discerned the principle of the experiment so quickly?”

He still harbored some doubt.

However, Lin Wei’s deft movements and precise choice of reagents swiftly dispelled all his skepticism.

“A true prodigy in biological mutation…” Noritz’s eyes narrowed slightly. “If not for the Sacred Jewel sacrifice, he might have become the most outstanding master of biological mutation in the Wizards’ Academy Alliance… such a pity…”

Unaware of Noritz’s thoughts, Lin Wei focused solely on following the steps provided by the intelligent sphere.

“First, ensure the remaining life energy no longer dissipates…”

Lin Wei pulled two test tubes filled with differently colored liquids, along with a transparent cup-shaped container.

“Pop, pop~”

He uncorked both tubes.

He shook the tube in his left hand, mixing the tangled substance at the bottom. Wisps of white smoke drifted upward from the mouth.

Once the smoke dissipated, Lin Wei poured the left-hand tube’s liquid steadily into the transparent cup.

Noritz’s eyes remained fixed on the volume of liquid being poured, as if assessing Lin Wei’s skill.

When the cup was one-fifth full, Lin Wei abruptly stopped the left hand. Swiftly, he poured the liquid from the right-hand tube into the cup, filling it to half, then ceased.

The two liquids began to merge, their original colors fading as they combined into a new, unified solution.

“The precision in this formulation is simply…” Noritz’s exterior remained calm, but internally he was stirred like the sea in a storm. “I once thought Cyrus’ praise was excessive, but now I see it was not exaggerated at all…”

“Formulation complete.”

Lin Wei pinched the mouse’s throat and administered the liquid from the transparent cup.

“The effect seems promising…” Lin Wei nodded lightly, feeling the changes within the mouse.

“Next, we need to ignite the mouse’s life energy…”

Lin Wei had never personally conducted such an ignition experiment before, but while assisting Cyrus, he had carefully recorded the entire process for kindling life energy.

Igniting life energy was akin to placing a spark into a pile of dead dry grass, rekindling the flame.

Lin Wei picked up a fine needle, dipping its tip into the newly blended life energy stimulant.

“The most critical step is coming…” Noritz’s attention zeroed in on the needle point in Lin Wei’s hand. “Sixty percent of officially certified biological mutation wizards fail this on their first try. Even the remaining forty percent proceed with utmost caution…”

“Hm?!”

Noritz’s lively mind was abruptly interrupted. His eyes widened, staring at Lin Wei’s movements: “Is that even possible?!”

Without hesitation, Lin Wei plunged the drug-coated needle directly into the back of the mouse’s head.

“Shouldn’t you measure and locate the optimal ignition point first? How can this succeed?!”

Noritz was momentarily stunned, his gaze tinged with doubt.

Yet the next moment, Lin Wei handed him the mouse.

“Lord Noritz, the experiment is complete.”

Succeeded!?

Noritz was half in disbelief.
