Chapter 12: My Boss is Benny Tiger Hon Bun!
This blockhead followed his two superiors, wandering onto Lockhart Road without even realizing it.
All around, the sounds of a bustling crowd filled his ears.
"Handsome, new styles are in, come on in and take a look..."
"Pretty lady, come, come, come inside for a cup of tea first..."
"You bastard, his mother just bumped into someone!"
The crowd was surging. The two superiors remained unflappable in the face of all this, but in Liu Haizhu’s eyes, this was the very definition of leadership style. These two clearly hadn't been here for the first time.
"Little Liu."
"Oh, uh, yes?" Liu Haizhu quickly snapped back to reality, caught up in a few strides, and flashed a row of bright white teeth: "Director Wu, what are your orders?"
"Director Zhou and I are tired. We’re planning to find a place for a soak; do you want to come along?"
Hearing this, Liu Haizhu’s eyes lit up, and he agreed on the spot. It was truly great to be with leaders; they were so thoughtful.
The next day, at a hotel in Wan Chai.
Liu Haizhu didn't wake up until noon. Dazed, he got up, washed, dressed, and walked out of his room with a cigarette hanging from his lips.
*Knock, knock, knock!*
*Knock, knock, knock!*
"Director Wu, Director Zhou..." Liu Haizhu shouted while knocking. Before long, a man wrapped in a bath towel opened the door across the hall.
"You idiot, what are you doing!"
Liu Haizhu didn't quite understand, but he still smiled politely, though his eyes drifted toward the charming sight inside the man's room.
"Damn it!"
*Bam!* The man slammed the door shut in anger.
After knocking for a long time with no response, Liu Haizhu felt a pang of distress and pulled out his phone to call. They weren't back home; international roaming fees must be expensive.
"Beep... beep... beep..."
"Hello, Director Wu? It’s Little Liu... What? You’ve gone out for training? ...Coming back tonight? ...Alright then."
Liu Haizhu gritted his teeth and shoved his phone back into his pocket.
In truth, it really wasn't the leaders' fault. Last night, when they took Liu Haizhu to the sauna, Director Wu had subtly asked for his opinion. Upon learning that the kid had no ulterior motives, Director Zhou had generously declared, "Go ahead and wash, this one's on your Uncle Zhou." That evening, old Zhou had paid the bill with a dark expression.
In Hong Kong at the time, a "sauna" wasn't just about taking a bath; there were plenty of "trained business elites" inside. More importantly, Liu Haizhu, this blockhead, didn't really understand what those boys with eyeliner and foundation were saying.
Whatever they said, he just nodded; he was enjoying himself anyway.
He had a soak, a pedicure, a massage, a back-walking session, and a spa treatment; he used all the essential oils and potions they offered. After all that, Liu Haizhu got hungry. As a result, upon the recommendation of one of the boys, he had a massive seafood feast. Before he started eating, the blockhead had foolishly asked, "Does this cost money?"
The boy with the thick eyebrows and big eyes had smiled so hard his eyes almost disappeared: "Don't you worry, it's on the house."
Back in his room at the Wan Chai hotel, feeling the remaining thousand or so dollars in his pocket, the blockhead felt a sting of pain; this was over two months of his salary. Sitting in the room smoking, Liu Haizhu took a fierce drag from the glowing cigarette butt and cursed, "Are they just going to abandon me like this?"
At a tea restaurant on Hennessy Road in Causeway Bay, the blockhead picked up the menu and was stunned.
After finishing his meal in a foul mood, he walked out and saw a fountain pool nearby, so he headed over. By the edge of the pool, he rolled up his pant legs and sat down, sprawled out, with a cigarette still dangling from his mouth. Watching the clean, long legs walking back and forth in front of him, his eyes were almost dizzy.
What should he do now?
Liu Haizhu reached out and grabbed a passing youth.
The youth asked, "What do you want?"
The blockhead looked up and grinned. The guy in front of him had green hair—and it was permed, rippling like waves. Seeing that the person grabbing him was a country bumpkin who happened to be better looking than him, the youth glared and tried to shake him off.
"Huh???"
He suddenly realized the guy had an incredible grip; he couldn't pull away.
The youth glared: "What the hell?!"
Liu Haizhu stood up, blocking the sunlight like a wall, and the youth instantly withered.
"Comrade, do you know where the restroom is?"
In the restroom, Liu Haizhu was relieving himself comfortably, thinking to himself that Hong Kong was indeed fancy—even the damn toilets were scented. Suddenly, a girl burst in, looking panicked.
Liu Haizhu was stunned.
In his shock and suspicion, he was dumbfounded. How could there be such a beautiful girl in this world?
The girl had eyes as bright as stars, and with just one glance, she was deeply etched into Liu Haizhu’s heart. The girl hadn't expected anyone to be inside. A flash of silver appeared in her hand, and before Liu Haizhu could see what it was, the silver light vanished. Her gaze traveled from Liu Haizhu down to... well, she looked slightly panicked, but a strange glint still crossed her eyes.
The blockhead stood up a bit straighter to show respect. Seeing this, the girl gasped in surprise.
Soon, both of them snapped back to reality. Liu Haizhu scrambled to tuck himself away, only to realize he had wet his pants. The girl laughed, a sound like a breeze through green hills and clear waters.
The girl darted past like an elf, her small hand flickering as she passed Liu Haizhu. Then, she pushed open a restroom stall door... *click*, she locked it from the inside.
Liu Haizhu stood there with his mouth agape, patting the wet spot on his pants in confusion.
*Clatter!*
Suddenly, several men rushed in. The leader glared viciously at Liu Haizhu and shouted, "You brat, did you see a girl?"
Seeing that Liu Haizhu ignored him, *shwing!* The man raised the machete in his hand, pointed it at the tip of his nose, and growled, "I'm talking to you!"
Liu Haizhu had been confused, but seeing the blade, he immediately got angry and cursed, "Get lost, don't try to act tough in front of me!"
This blockhead had an innate aura that made people wary—especially bad guys!
The lead gangster, despite his heart hammering, pushed the tip of his blade forward: "My boss is 'Penny Tiger' Han Bin, get out of the way if you know what's good for you!"
*Slap!*
Liu Haizhu raised his hand and knocked the machete away, glaring and roaring: "Speak like a human!"
The man thought to himself, what incredible strength!
Another man stepped out from the group and said authoritatively, "My big brother is Han Bin, this is Hong Lok business, get lost!"
Liu Haizhu thought to himself, 'Han Bin? What kind of thing is Han Bin?'
He suddenly laughed: "Bullying a woman? Even Lu Dongbin wouldn't stand for that!"
"Kill him!"
The lackeys clamored, and the leader, consumed by rage, swung his sharp machete again!
Amidst the sound of whistling wind...
*Swish!*
Liu Haizhu seized his wrist, his expression turning cold instantly: "Looking for trouble? I'll finish you!"
"Huh?"
The man panicked, but with his wrist held by this blockhead, no matter how hard he struggled, it was useless!
"Let go!"
"Are you all dead? Get him together!"
"Kill him!"
"Hack him to death!"
