Chapter 110 — Another Uninvited Guest
Under Su Nian’s cold and piercing gaze, Cheng Yishu felt utterly speechless, as if no words could justify himself… Just as the young couple’s eyes were about to merge in a tender gaze, the doorbell rang again. This time, the visitor was someone no one had anticipated.
The stunning beauty, An’an, with her enchanting eyes and charming smile, her wavy long hair cascading loosely behind her, wore a sleeveless pink dress that accentuated her peachy complexion…
But her very first action upon entering was to ignore everyone else and joyfully wrap her alabaster arms around a stunned, utterly bewildered Cheng Yishu’s neck.
Lin Xiaowen stood frozen in place, unsure of what to do, while Su Nian’s eyes filled with a layer of icy frost.
“Hey, what… what are you doing?” Cheng Yishu stammered, flustered, trying to push away the beautiful woman clinging to him. An’an, however, was unmoved, pressing closer and whining coquettishly, “Why? We haven’t seen each other for so many days, don’t you miss me? Even if you don’t, can’t I at least miss you?”
“Let go of me, let go…” Cheng Yishu broke out in a cold sweat and glanced behind at Lin Xiaowen, only to see her pale face and slightly reddened eyes.
Seeing this, Cheng Yishu grew even more anxious and forcefully tore An’an’s hands from his neck. An’an immediately let out a loud cry, “Ouch, Yishu… you hurt me!”
My goodness, that cry was so loud that even the cold-eyed Su Nian couldn’t help but look away, unable to bear watching any longer.
This wasn’t displeasure at all—it was pure coquettishness!
“Xiaowen, listen to me…” Cheng Yishu’s expression was tense as he tried to approach Lin Xiaowen, but An’an pulled him back again.
“What’s wrong with you? Acting all strange… Are these friends from outside your circle? Aren’t you going to introduce me?” An’an clung to one of Cheng Yishu’s arms and glanced at Lin Xiaowen and Su Nian with wide, innocent eyes that dazzled him.
“Let go of me…” Cheng Yishu was about to lose his temper when Su Nian spoke coldly, “Since your girlfriend is here, we’ll be leaving.”
“Girlfriend? Hey!” Cheng Yishu saw Su Nian grab Lin Xiaowen’s hand and prepare to leave. He immediately blocked the doorway, his brows furrowed, glaring at Su Nian, “Let go of her, right now!”
“Why should I?” Su Nian retorted without backing down. “I think you should first figure out your own position before you have the right to speak to me.”
“Right?” Cheng Yishu glanced at Lin Xiaowen, who was looking down with an unreadable expression, then at the terrified An’an, and suddenly found himself at a loss for words.
Taking a deep breath, he finally said, “If I don’t have the right, then what right do you have to take Xiaowen away?”
“I already told you, I’m here on someone else’s behalf,” Su Nian continued firmly. “Besides, I’m here to protect Xiaowen, to ensure she doesn’t suffer any grievances or harm. Clearly, you’ve disappointed us all!”
“Yishu… who is this?” An’an looked Xiaowen up and down, weakly asking.
“Let’s go,” Lin Xiaowen said without raising her head.
Su Nian sensed the unease in the small hand in hers and turned to give Lin Xiaowen a reassuring glance. As she lifted the suitcase in her other hand…
“Step aside!” Su Nian’s eyes warned Cheng Yishu, whose sorrowful gaze passed over her and landed on Lin Xiaowen’s face.
But there was nothing there but disappointment and silence.
“Xiaowen, it’s really not what you think. Please let me explain!” An’an’s name and appearance were still fresh in Lin Xiaowen’s memory.
Although the photos of Cheng Yishu and An’an kissing were somewhat blurry, Lin Xiaowen recognized him immediately.
How could she forget that Cheng Yishu already had a girlfriend? And such a perfect match, so dazzling!
Just as all the shipper fans said—they were a perfect couple…
Seeing their sweet moments together, she had believed in love once more.
“Explain yourself, quickly…” Cheng Yishu was flustered, pulling An’an in front of Lin Xiaowen.
An’an pouted innocently, whispering to Cheng Yishu, “Explain what?”
“You…” Cheng Yishu’s eyes widened in shock.
The once-partner and now rumored girlfriend—An’an, an actress renowned for her acting skills, delivered such a flawless performance that even Cheng Yishu himself was nearly convinced.
Lin Xiaowen suddenly closed her eyes tightly; when she opened them again, her expression was clear and resolute.
“Sorry to disturb you. Su Nian, let’s go,” she said.
“Xiaowen, don’t listen to her nonsense. Truly, she and I have no—”
Lin Xiaowen pulled her hand free from Su Nian’s grasp and opened the door, stepping out first. Su Nian turned to block Cheng Yishu, who wanted to follow.
“Like I said, sort out your own affairs before coming to us!” Su Nian stood firmly in the doorway, staring seriously at Cheng Yishu.
“Su Nian, don’t use this as an excuse. Let me say one more thing—me and…” Cheng Yishu was desperate to explain, but Su Nian interrupted with a frown.
“None of my concern. Who you are with and what you do doesn’t need explaining to me. I won’t take advantage of the situation. On the contrary, Xiaowen and I have already made things clear. Now, I’m only standing here as a friend or maybe an older brother figure, not wanting Xiaowen to get hurt anymore.”
Cheng Yishu was stunned. He sneered, “Older brother? Who would believe that? You confessed to Xiaowen right in front of me, and now you say you want to be her brother… no one’s buying it. Move aside; I’m going to clarify things with Xiaowen.”
“Suit yourself! But I think you should deal with the one in your room first, or no one can save you!”
Cheng Yishu froze, his hand pulling on Su Nian’s stopped mid-air.
With a cold smile on her lips, Su Nian turned and walked out, slamming the door shut behind her.
An’an shuddered, startled by the loud noise and by the terrifying look in Cheng Yishu’s eyes.
“Cough…” An’an casually glanced around the room and said, “The place isn’t that great, just one bedroom? How can you live here? Do your assistant and manager stay at this hotel too? Not to criticize, but why didn’t you book a bigger place? Trying to save money for the crew, huh?”
An’an rambled on, but Cheng Yishu didn’t respond. She plopped down and continued, “No one’s cleaning either? How about I ask my assistant to come help later? I know Da Lingzi’s still in the hospital, so you’re a bit stuck… Oh, I forgot to tell you, my company booked this hotel for me, and it’s right next door to yours…”
“An’an!” Cheng Yishu’s temper flared at her seeming indifference. The sudden loud call made An’an’s heart flutter.
“What’s wrong? You scared me!” An’an hugged a small pillow, looking aggrieved at the furious Cheng Yishu standing before her.
“I want to ask you, what exactly are you doing here?” Cheng Yishu leaned closer, questioning sharply.
“Me? Why am I here in Yunnan at such a critical moment? Don’t you know how much trouble your sudden arrival has caused me?” he demanded.
“Trouble?” An’an blinked, reminiscing. “Are you talking about that brother and sister just now?”
“What brother and sister…” Cheng Yishu stomped his foot anxiously, shouting, “Are you trying to drive me crazy?”
“Relax!” An’an laughed heartily, watching Cheng Yishu, who usually struggled to say a word, now frantic and jumping around like a monkey. She was thoroughly amused, thinking, “Finally, I can get revenge and ease my frustration…”
