It was already night, and the streets were sparsely populated. Around the building occupied by the Jiade Group, many "idlers" were strolling about.

Hu Xiong, Li Changqing, Bai Chuan, and Jiang Jiayi were all seated in the same vehicle. Li Changqing patted his pocket. "Little girl, you just stay in the car for now."

From within the pocket, Tang Xiaoyu’s voice rang out: "I'm sticking with you! Wherever you go, I go!"

Such a coward... Whether it was the previous mission to capture Zhang Xun'er or this one, she was always too frightened to show her face, hiding away in his pocket. Yet, she insisted on following him everywhere.

"Still keeping a ghost?" Jiang Jiayi asked with a chuckle as he turned around. In the Bureau of Supernatural Investigation, methods for raising ghosts were quite rare.

"I was recruited under a special provision," Li Changqing replied with a smile.

Jiang Jiayi nodded, then looked toward the towering skyscraper not far away, where the lights were still blazing. "The Director will give the order soon. We have half a minute to wipe out those half-finished monsters, then we move in." He rested his hands in front of the car's air conditioning vent and asked curiously, "Your Bureau 36 rarely handles cases of this magnitude, right?"

Hu Xiong laughed awkwardly and said, "We’d love to handle big cases, but there aren't many opportunities."

"It's not exactly a privilege," Jiang Jiayi said, leaning back in the seat as he looked toward the building. "For us in the First Bureau, this isn't even considered a major scene. You should have seen the one three years ago when we dealt with that evil god. It was in a vast, dense forest. That evil god could control the trees; the entire forest was our enemy. In the end, the First Bureau lost nearly a third of its personnel to take it down. Five years ago, when we dealt with a demonic cultivator named Bai Chuan..."

As he spoke, Jiang Jiayi grew increasingly excited, but he suddenly caught sight of Bai Chuan beside him. Realizing something, he abruptly shut his mouth.

Li Changqing was also taken aback. *Talk about a coincidence.* He couldn't help but glance at Bai Chuan, whose expression remained entirely calm and unruffled. He simply stated, "I turned over a new leaf after that."

"Glad to hear it," Jiang Jiayi said with an awkward laugh.

Just then, Jiang Jiayi’s phone chimed. It was an alarm signaling that the units tasked with handling the half-finished monsters had begun their assault. A moment later, another notification sounded—a text message. It contained only two words: *Move in.* The message had been sent to everyone in the Seventh and Twelfth Squads.

"Let's go!" Li Changqing opened the car door, and the group headed toward the main entrance of the Jiade Group.

Two security guards at the entrance, who were in the middle of a yawn, suddenly saw a dark, dense mass of people approaching. "What are you doing!" one guard shouted, grabbing his baton. "This is a society governed by law! What do you think you're doing?"

"Take them down," Jiang Jiayi commanded with a wave of his hand. Two men stepped forward and quickly pinned the guards to the ground.

"Report, they aren't monsters."

"Let them go." They couldn't spare the manpower to guard them.

Instantly, the sounds of combat erupted throughout the first floor of the Jiade building.

"What's going on?"

"What happened?"

Shen Qingzhen, Shen Qingchi, and Huang Shangui were inside the building. Hearing the commotion, they rushed to the top-floor office.

"Father, something's happened downstairs!" Shen Qingzhen said, gasping for breath.

Shen Yan sat on the sofa, expressionless. On the television in front of him, surveillance footage showed the intruders battling his monsters.

"It's the First Bureau."

Shen Yan slowly removed his glasses, his face grave. He reached into his coat, pulled out a remote control, and pressed a button. *Beep, beep, beep, beep...* The remote flashed with a red light. A flicker of something unusual crossed Shen Yan's face, but he said nothing.

He tossed the remote aside, leaned on his cane, and stood up slowly. He looked calmly at Shen Qingzhen, Shen Qingchi, and Huang Shangui. "I have treated you well over the years, haven't I?" Shen Yan asked slowly.

"Father's kindness to us is as heavy as a mountain," Huang Shangui replied without hesitation.

"Such is time, such is fate." Shen Yan tossed his cane aside. His demonic energy surged rapidly, erupting from his body like a waterfall. The three were stunned by the sheer power of his presence; it had been a long time since they had seen Shen Yan fight.

"As monsters, we were bound to clash with the First Bureau sooner or later." Shen Yan slowly raised his hands and touched the foreheads of the three. "Are you willing to fight side-by-side with your father, to bathe in blood and kill the enemy? Will you vow never to retreat?"

The three replied without hesitation: "We are willing to fight side-by-side with Father, to bathe in blood and kill the enemy, never to retreat!"

"Very good." Shen Yan nodded with satisfaction. He took a deep breath and shouted, "Go, my children! Take up your weapons and fight the First Bureau to the death! Let them see what we are made of!"

"Yes!" the three shouted in unison.

Shen Qingzhen and Shen Qingchi were filled with fervor. Both had been raised by Shen Yan from beasts into monsters and trained by him since childhood; they were naturally willing to give their lives for him.

"Brother!" "Fourth brother!" "Let's kill!" The two locked eyes, drew their weapons, and charged toward the stairs. Today, they would surely carve a bloody path out for their father!

Huang Shangui stood respectfully before Shen Yan, remaining silent.

"Why aren't you going?" Shen Yan narrowed his eyes.

Huang Shangui replied respectfully, "I wish to share in Father's fate."

"What do you mean by that?" Shen Yan’s eyes narrowed further.

Huang Shangui smiled. Those two were fools, but he was not.

Shen Yan’s eyes darted slightly. He retracted his demonic energy completely and pulled two sets of clothing and disguise masks from the office. "Put these on, suppress your aura, and we will escape through the secret passage."

"Understood," Huang Shangui nodded.

The two quickly changed their clothes and vanished from the top-floor office.

...

Meanwhile, the First Bureau could not use the elevators and had to fight their way up the stairs floor by floor. The monsters put up a desperate defense, showing an unexpected level of loyalty to Shen Yan.

Jiang Jiayi led the charge, wielding a heavy broadsword. The monsters could hardly withstand his strikes. After a series of fierce slashes, the forty-plus members followed him upward. When Jiang Jiayi grew tired, others took his place.

Li Changqing, Hu Xiong, and Bai Chuan, however, remained at the back of the formation, perfectly safe. Just then, near the emergency stairwell entrance, Li Changqing caught a glimpse of two figures flashing past on that floor.

"There are two people inside this floor," Li Changqing remarked.
