Chapter Nine: The Violet Lightning Laser Cannon
Upon hearing this, Su Yang involuntarily drew in a sharp breath, thinking to himself that if he could truly tame this Purple Lightning Savage Lion, his plan for revenge would indeed become much easier. This beast should pose little trouble against Wang Lang. As for Wang Yiyi, Su Yang was determined to deal with her personally and reclaim the supreme blood that rightfully belonged to him.
“How should I proceed?” Su Yang asked.
“Simple,” came the reply. “Just overpower it. First, let this beast feel your mighty combat strength and bow to your presence. Leave the rest to me—I’ll ensure this Purple Lightning Savage Lion obeys you obediently.”
Before Su Yang could respond, the Purple Lightning Savage Lion launched its attack. Its crouched body sprang forward, its massive claws tearing through the air as it aimed at Su Yang.
Su Yang unleashed his spiritual energy, holding his long staff firmly against his chest. With a resounding crash, an immense force surged through the staff into his arms, sending a tingling sensation coursing through his entire body. The powerful impact flung him several meters backward, but he managed to stabilize himself just in time.
“Damn!” Su Yang cursed, releasing a burst of spiritual energy as he gripped the staff, now enveloped in his power, and counterattacked. A colossal shadow of the staff swung fiercely downward.
The Purple Lightning Savage Lion reacted swiftly. Su Yang’s strike missed as the beast roared again and lunged with its claws toward Su Yang’s head.
Su Yang tossed the staff into the air and activated the Battle Saint Technique, clenching his fists as a tremendous force spread throughout his body.
“Ha!” he shouted, meeting the savage lion’s claws head-on with a powerful punch. Their bodies collided directly.
Boom! The clash of fist and claw unleashed fierce gusts of wind. The lion’s pupils shifted, seemingly surprised that this seemingly weak human dared to engage in a physical confrontation—and was holding his own. The regal bearing of a true king filled it with fury.
“Roar!” The beast let out another wild roar, releasing a terrifying aura that twisted Su Yang’s expression.
“Ha!” Su Yang summoned all his strength, pushing his physical power to the limit as a fierce battle aura burst forth, blasting the Purple Lightning Savage Lion backward.
The beast quickly flapped its wings to stabilize itself, landing steadily on the ground. It did not attack again but continued to crouch, its fierce gaze locked on Su Yang.
Though Su Yang had expended much energy, he had not inflicted any substantial harm on the lion, whose ferocity remained undiminished. Clenching his fists, Su Yang prepared for another strike.
“Roar!” Feeling disrespected by the human before it, the Purple Lightning Savage Lion bellowed, its purple fur crackling with lightning. As a sixth-rank beast, it would not tolerate contempt from a mere weak human. It vowed to tear him apart.
Aware that the beast was about to unleash its abilities, Su Yang hastily snatched up his staff, spiritual energy raging forth.
“You weak human, you shall die!” The lion spoke with human words, its eyes blazing with murderous intent. Lightning now enveloped its entire fur.
“Hmph. Who knows who will die first? Better submit to me, and I might spare your life,” Su Yang replied calmly, knowing that some sixth-rank beasts could speak human language, while those above seventh rank could even transform into human form.
“Die!!!”
“Purple Lightning Laser Cannon!”
With a roar, a terrifying wave of purple lightning energy erupted from the beast. This force was enough to obliterate any expert below the Divine Martial realm; even those within that realm would suffer grievous injury if struck.
Su Yang’s expression darkened as he faced the oncoming attack. The Battle Saint Technique’s imagery flashed in his mind. He swung his staff in circles, forming a shield of swirling shadows.
The Purple Lightning Laser Cannon struck the staff shield with overwhelming force, pushing Su Yang backward at a rapid pace. Everything behind him disintegrated under the assault.
His arms trembled with exertion, his staff, wrapped in spiritual energy, began to crack—testament to the immense power unleashed.
“Click, click. This Purple Lightning Savage Lion is quite fierce, capable of such formidable power—and it’s not even fully mature. Boy, don’t be careless. Remember the true essence of the Battle Saint Technique: it’s about physical confrontation, not spiritual energy clashes. Against it, no number of lives would suffice,” a voice echoed in Su Yang’s mind, reminding him.
Instantly, Su Yang understood the meaning behind the elder’s words. The Battle Saint Technique centered on combat, not spiritual energy collisions. Only through constant physical combat could one awaken inner strength, break through limitations, shatter internal shackles, and progressively enhance battle prowess—growing braver and stronger with each fight.
“Haah!!!” Seeing himself blasted back over a thousand meters, Su Yang roared like thunder shaking the heavens. Nearby beasts below the fourth rank scattered in panic.
His entire body erupted with spiritual energy, golden light intertwining with purple lightning, blooming like magnificent fireworks.
Boom!
The explosion was deafening.
The Purple Lightning Savage Lion sneered, “Weak human, you dare challenge my authority? You’ve lived this long, and dying beneath my Purple Lightning Laser Cannon is a fate worthy of pride.”
To the beast, the young human must have been pulverized by its attack.
Just as the lion shook off its purple fur, preparing to leave, a voice rang out from afar: “Hey, little lion. Don’t be in such a hurry to leave. I’m not dead yet!!!”
The lion paused, eyes wide with disbelief as it stared at the battlefield, destroyed for miles, where a ragged youth wrapped in golden light was walking toward it empty-handed.
“Impossible!!!”
“This human is still alive? He’s only at True Martial Realm—how could he withstand my Purple Lightning Laser Cannon?”
“Damn it, what’s going on? Has my power weakened?”
The once proud lion felt a surge of frustration. A sixth-rank beast unable to instantly kill a True Martial Realm cultivator—its claim to kingship was clearly hollow.
Before the lion could recover from this shock, Su Yang stood before it once again.
With beast-like eyes locked on the Purple Lightning Savage Lion, he said, “Little lion, shall we play some more?”
