“Father!” Watching his father leap away into the distance, Li Shanshan’s eyes brimmed with tears. She instinctively reached out her right hand, as if trying to grasp that fading figure tightly.

“Miss, please follow me and leave at once. We must not betray the city lord’s wishes,” General Yang said sorrowfully. Though saddened, he was still a general bound to obey orders.

Li Shanshan stood rooted to the spot, dazed. Despite her reluctance, she knew there was no choice but to leave now.

Yet, just as General Yang prepared to escort her away, Li Shanshan caught sight of a shadow concealed in the vast night. The figure moved with incredible speed and vanished into the darkness in an instant.

Even so, she sensed an unmistakably familiar aura.

Though distant, it felt remarkably close...

Her heart whispered, “Such a familiar feeling... Could that shadow be someone I know?”

Seeing Li Shanshan still lost in thought, General Yang tugged her and urged, “Miss, don’t hesitate. Before the Wang family notices us, we must hurry out of the city.”

Without waiting for her response, he led a group and started moving toward the city gates.

Unbeknownst to them, an ambush lay in wait.

“Heh heh, General Yang, where are you off to?” Three figures emerged from the darkness, blocking their path.

Upon recognizing them, General Yang’s expression darkened. “It’s you! The Black Wind Brothers.”

...

Inside the Su residence, the battle raged fiercely.

Su Qiang matched Wang Zixiang blow for blow, both wounded, neither able to claim victory for the time being. The Third and Fourth Elders faced formidable opponents as well, bloodied but unyielding in their deadly combat!

At the same time, Su Beilou grappled with Wang Lang.

The gap between the two was painfully obvious at a glance.

“Su Beilou, is that all you’ve got? Seems I overestimated you. I suggest you accept your fate now, lest you be torn apart later,” Wang Lang taunted, never having unleashed a single move, merely dodging Su Beilou’s attacks.

Frustrated and desperate, Su Beilou knew the disparity between them. He was only a third-rank Divine Warrior, while Wang Lang had long ascended to fifth rank.

Though just two ranks apart, the difference was like a chasm.

---

“Enough talk. A soldier can be killed but not humiliated, Wang Lang! Today, I will not let you walk away unscathed.”

With a fierce shout, Su Beilou unleashed the advanced technique “Three Suns Blazing Palm.”

His spirit surged, spiritual energy gathering at his palms as roaring flames erupted.

The triple profound energies radiated from his body to his palms, intensifying the fiery power.

“Oh? So you’re finally serious, even bringing out your family’s secret skill. Fine, considering our past, I’ll let you die a painful death.”

“Advanced Technique: Heavenly Bull Fierce Strength!”

Though confident, Wang Lang dared not underestimate the situation. Su Beilou was still a formidable Divine Warrior; if he fought recklessly, Wang Lang might not endure.

Suddenly, Su Beilou’s palms exploded with terrifying flames in midair, the overwhelming aura enveloping him as he launched a ferocious assault.

Each punch and palm strike carried the fury of blazing fire.

One misstep, and he could be reduced to ashes.

Wang Lang, however, with his higher cultivation, countered effortlessly. His advanced technique radiated superior momentum and power.

A fierce gale swirled as he charged like a raging bull.

No matter how Su Beilou struck, he could not even graze Wang Lang.

“Su Beilou, you cannot harm me. Your struggles are futile,” Wang Lang laughed mockingly.

In the shadows, Su Yang and Purple Lightning Fierce Lion watched intently. When Su Yang spotted Wang Lang and the nearby Wang Yiyi observing the fight, his fury nearly cost him his reason.

Just as he was about to intervene, the Great Sage’s voice stopped him in time.

“Young man, don’t be impulsive. It’s dog-eat-dog out there—why get so worked up? The Su family has nothing to do with you now. Your parents aren’t here. Better to watch and wait. Besides, that old woman’s cultivation is no joke—she’s at least above old Wang. If you show yourself rashly, you might be walking into a tiger’s den!”

Su Yang’s burning mind cooled instantly.

Indeed, he had noticed the old woman standing beside Wang Yiyi—unassuming yet completely unaffected by the surrounding spiritual energy fluctuations, as steady as a mountain.

Wang Yiyi treated the old woman with deep respect, silent and attentive.

“Big brother, that old woman is powerful. Even I feel a trace of danger from her,” Purple Lightning Fierce Lion said gravely.

“Mm, understood,” Su Yang replied, falling silent.

He couldn’t fathom why the Wang family attacked the Su family now. Was it merely because Wang Yiyi had broken through to Divine Warrior rank? If that were the sole reason, Wang Lang’s ambition was truly boundless.

---

Su Beilou had once been a senior elder of the Su family and had treated Su Yang kindly. Yet Su Yang never expected that after his disappearance, Su Beilou would become the family head while his own parents remained missing.

This tormented Su Yang’s heart. He longed desperately to know if his parents were still alive.

Still, he understood the current situation forbade rash action. Should he get trapped, escaping the Wang family’s pursuit would be far more difficult.

Better to wait a little longer.

Watching the ongoing battle within the Su residence, Su Yang’s heart was now calm and unmoved.

...

Seeing his attacks effortlessly parried by Wang Lang, Su Beilou grew increasingly anxious. The more desperate he became, the more vulnerable he was.

All he wanted now was to fight Wang Lang to the death.

Wang Lang continued to mock him.

“Brother Su, your technique is weak. Is that all the ‘Three Suns Blazing Palm’ can do? Seems I truly overestimated your family. No, to be precise, I overestimated you after Su Lie’s departure. When Su Lie and Lin Wanwan were alive, I wouldn’t have dared think of the Su family.”

“What a pity that bastard disappeared, and you turned ruthless against them.”

“Su Beilou, we could have coexisted peacefully, but I have a habit—I don’t like sharing my power. So, I’ll just use you as a fine pawn.”

“Hahaha!”

Shaking with rage, Su Beilou’s face distorted with fury.

With a furious roar, he bellowed, “Wang Lang, I’ll fight you to the death!”

Alas, Wang Lang had been waiting for Su Beilou to lose control.

As he faltered, Wang Lang’s figure flashed. Gathering the gale’s power into his right fist, he unleashed a devastating strike to Su Beilou’s abdomen.

“Die!”

A cold sneer curved Wang Lang’s lips.
