Chapter Seven: Pilgrimage to Penglai
Qin Tian arrived at An Miaoling’s room and pushed the door open without hesitation.
"Miaoling, Master has made something delicious. Come and have a late-night snack."
As soon as he finished speaking, he froze, for An Miaoling was in the middle of bathing. Her jade-like shoulders were as white and smooth as snow, and her flushed, delicate face looked exceptionally enchanting. Most of all, her perfectly proportioned figure took his breath away. For a moment, he felt a surge of heat in his nose.
"Master, you’ve barged in without knocking again," An Miaoling complained.
"Master was just in a hurry to call you for food. Hurry up and get dressed. I’ve prepared a table full of delicacies; let’s have a drink together tonight."
"Get out."
Qin Tian took a few steps back and stood at the doorway.
"Close the door," An Miaoling commanded.
"Master won't peek. Hurry up; the food will get cold."
"I don't believe a word you say!"
With that, An Miaoling flicked her jade-like hand, and the door slammed shut. Qin Tian sighed softly, "Where has the trust between people gone?"
Once the door was closed, An Miaoling began to dress. Which one should she wear? While choosing, she caught sight of a red undergarment Qin Tian had given her not long ago. She put it on and looked in the mirror; her arms and thighs were exposed. Hmph! I knew Master was a lecher; I won't make it easy for him. She then found a large silk scarf to drape over herself, covering her shoulders and half of her thighs.
After dressing, she walked to the dining room. Smelling the aroma of the dishes, her appetite immediately whetted. Qin Tian didn't cook every day; it depended entirely on his mood or her special requests. Otherwise, there were times he would only cook once a month. She hadn't eaten his cooking for a while, so she was quite eager.
After An Miaoling had eaten a few bites, Qin Tian brought out a pot of "Monkey Wine" and filled two cups. "This stuff—the Monkey Demon Emperor hid it so well; it took me a great deal of effort to find even this one pot."
An Miaoling smiled and said, "That Demon Emperor is quite unlucky to have crossed paths with you."
"This Monkey Wine requires not only spirit fruits over five thousand years old but also a decade of brewing by the Macaque tribe."
"Master didn't go get it for himself; I did it so you could achieve a breakthrough sooner."
Hearing this, An Miaoling felt a touch of warmth in her heart. She picked up her glass, clinked it against Qin Tian’s, and downed it in one go.
After drinking, a powerful and pure spiritual energy dispersed within her, tempering her physical body. Before long, her aura became significantly denser. Qin Tian also took a small sip from his glass and remarked, "Drinking like that has no soul; you have to savor it slowly."
"Savor it? Don't you want me to get drunk?" An Miaoling said, inadvertently letting the silk scarf covering her shoulders slide down a bit. Her fair skin and sexy collarbones were revealed. Qin Tian stared, transfixed. "My disciple is right; this wine should indeed be downed cup by cup."
He finished his drink in one gulp. An Miaoling pulled up her scarf, stood up, and said, "You enjoy it yourself; I'm going to sleep." With that, she drifted away.
Watching her retreating figure, Qin Tian murmured, "The girl next door is growing up; this little lass is becoming more and more enchanting."
The next day, several people arrived at the sect gate: an old man and three young people—two men and one woman. One of the young men shouted, "Grand Elder Leng Ya of Penglai, along with his disciples, has come to pay a visit."
Deep within the sect, Mo Wentian frowned. Coming to visit at a time like this could only mean ill intent. Could it be because of the secret realm? Soon, Leng Ya and his party were escorted to the main hall.
"May I ask the purpose of Brother Leng's visit today?" Mo Wentian asked.
"I heard that Kunlun has a prodigy who has awakened the ancient bloodline, so I brought my disciples to see for ourselves."
At this, a young man beside Leng Ya stepped forward and said humbly, "Junior Bai Shaohua, the head disciple of Penglai, pays his respects to Sect Master Mo."
Some disciples below began to whisper. "So this is Bai Shaohua, the head disciple of the sect leader of Penglai, one of the three great righteous sects!"
"Not only that, he is the leader of the three great prodigies of the younger generation."
"True, he is excellent, but his looks are still a bit inferior to our Junior Martial Uncle."
Mo Wentian nodded in praise, "Indeed a rare talent. However, that girl An Miaoling is currently in seclusion, so it is inconvenient for her to see guests."
Mo Wentian directly crushed their expectations; after all, this was an ancient Ice Phoenix bloodline that could not be compromised. Leng Ya and Bai Shaohua’s expressions shifted. They had intended to propose a marriage union with An Miaoling after meeting her. Now, they couldn't even see her.
"Sect Master Mo, may I ask if it would be convenient for me, Bai Shaohua, to spar with the younger generation of Kunlun?"
The hall became lively at these words. "Damn, this guy is here to pick a fight."
"Yeah, this is trouble. It seems no one in our younger generation is stronger than him."
Mo Wentian’s expression remained unchanged, but inside, he was cursing. This was clearly bullying. But now, he had been put on the spot. Under the gaze of everyone, refusing would be too shameful, so he had no choice but to agree.
"A spar between young people to improve together is acceptable." He then sent a telepathic message to his disciple, Yan Qingsi. She had gained some insights recently; perhaps she had a chance to defeat Bai Shaohua.
Far away on Hidden Sword Peak, Qin Tian seemed to sense something and looked toward the direction of the main hall.
"What is it, Master?" An Miaoling asked, seeing the change in his expression.
"A Semi-Saint expert has brought people into the sect; they are looking for trouble!"
"Oh!" An Miaoling replied, uninterested, and continued practicing her swordplay.
Inside the hall, Bai Shaohua walked to the center and said, "Which senior brother is willing to offer some instruction? If I am defeated, I will gift a top-grade Earth-tier pill."
A top-grade Earth-tier pill? Many revealed expressions of greed, but in the end, no one went up. They were not stupid; they knew the gap between them and Bai Shaohua. Bai Shaohua scanned the area, and those he looked at subconsciously took a step back.
"What, does the Kunlun Sword Sect not have a single person who dares to come up?" Bai Shaohua said with impunity, relying on the backing of Leng Ya, the Semi-Saint.
Hearing this, all the Kunlun disciples were enraged.
"I'll spar with you!" A sturdy man walked in from the hall entrance. "Xuan Lei, head disciple of the Thunder Control Peak, requests your instruction."
As soon as Xuan Lei finished speaking, discussions broke out again. "Senior Brother Xuan Lei is here! I heard his Thunder Control Arts are extremely aggressive; he might have a chance!"
"I'm from the Thunder Control Peak; I heard the Peak Master gave him the Heavenly Thunder Arts. He will definitely be able to defeat Bai Shaohua."
"Let's hope so! After all, that is Bai Shaohua."
Seeing someone step forward, Bai Shaohua said mockingly, "You are still a man, unlike the others."
