The remaining demons were in an uproar. Some were furious, others terrified, but there was no consensus among them.

"These demons," Anglora said with a puzzled expression, "they seem so weak?"

Roger shook his head. "Their thoughts are simply too chaotic. You should be able to feel the power within them; even the weakest is at the third energy level, and the strongest are nearing the fifth."

In the darkness, a demon’s body lit up with glowing, lava-like veins. Purple stones embedded throughout its frame emitted a blinding radiance, and a wave of heat washed over the area. Nearby demons scrambled to get away, some even suffering burns, but Adonsa did not retreat an inch.

The demon, now transformed into a giant of living flame, roared, pounded its chest, and spat out a scorching fireball like a street performer’s trick, hurling it toward Adonsa.

Growing impatient, Adonsa didn't wait for the flaming demon to charge. It stomped a massive crater into the ground and surged forward.

The fireball was shattered upon impact, sending sparks flying that made the surrounding demons shriek in pain. The fire-demon didn't even realize what had happened before its head was severed from its body. Adonsa swallowed the head in one gulp, and purple blood sizzled within the still-burning corpse, releasing a foul, charred stench.

Adonsa chewed performatively and sneered, "Disgusting."

The scent of burnt flesh sent the other demons into a bloodthirsty frenzy. Veins of various colors ignited across their bodies, manifesting all sorts of bizarre abilities. Some dropped the temperature drastically, others controlled air currents, and some rendered their skin incredibly dense.

With bloodshot eyes, they lunged at Adonsa.

Adonsa raised an arm to block as its feet morphed into roots that drove deep into the earth. Even so, the ground beneath sank two centimeters. A massive demon, whose fist was nearly half the size of a human, slammed its deformed hand toward Adonsa’s head, the friction creating a deafening boom.

When the blow failed to connect, the demon roared wildly, its foul breath washing over Adonsa’s face.

Unmoved, Adonsa spat out a compressed air bullet, the explosion blasting away half of the giant-fisted demon’s head. The creature was still alive despite the grievous wound, its vitality so immense that even Adonsa cast a side-glance in surprise.

The demon’s other hand grabbed Adonsa’s slender frame, trying to lift it, but it couldn't budge the creature whose roots had anchored it dozens of meters into the earth—unless the demon could flip over hundreds of cubic meters of ground.

Sensing a hint of despair, the demon grew even more frantic, wrapping both arms around Adonsa to restrain it.

Adonsa’s head suddenly expanded, opening a maw lined with five rows of razor-sharp teeth. It crunched down, shattering and swallowing the demon’s entire upper torso. The creature’s astonishing vitality finally flickered out, and it collapsed, its muscles twitching in involuntary spasms.

There were hundreds of demons here, each radiating terrifying and turbulent energy, as if they might explode into a pile of gore at any moment. If they had swarmed the trio all at once, they would have been crushed to dust in an instant.

As the three looked at the red sea of enemies with growing unease, they suddenly witnessed an even more horrifying sight.

Adonsa grinned savagely. "Wouldn't it have been simpler to do this from the start? A bunch of idiots wasting my time."

Adonsa cracked its neck, retracted its roots, and vanished from its spot. The hurricane force generated by its high-speed movement slammed weaker demons against the walls like flies.

The heads of nearby demons suddenly soared into the air; they died without ever knowing what happened. It wasn't a clean cut—Adonsa was violently ripping their heads off, inflicting the maximum possible fear and agony.

Adonsa wasn't even using much strength; it was simply toying with this primitive, deformed rabble. Whether it was physical hardening, explosive speed, or berserker strength, not a single demon could survive a single exchange. All were brutally decapitated.

The airborne heads trailed long spinal cords, and cerebrospinal fluid splattered onto Anglora’s face, causing the young mage to stiffen. Though a battle-hardened mage, she was chilled to the bone by the efficiency of Adonsa’s slaughter.

Suddenly, a demon spat out a cloud of near-solid white mist, momentarily gumming up the charging Adonsa. Then, a pair of pitch-black, sharp claws erupted from the ground, locking onto Adonsa’s feet.

Adonsa tried to lift its legs, and the ground trembled violently. The creature beneath had anchored itself to hundreds of tons of earth, just as Adonsa had done earlier.

Deciding not to struggle, Adonsa allowed the demons to attack.

At first, the demons shrieked as they swarmed, subjecting Adonsa to a barrage of stone projectiles, lightning, fireballs, and acidic venom. But such crude, low-efficiency energy could not penetrate Adonsa’s nano-vulcanized carbon-yne skin.

Before long, the area around Adonsa became a living hell. Plasma storms raged, and the ground beneath its feet melted into magma.

Under the relentless assault, Adonsa’s defenses finally developed large cracks, revealing the gray-red silicified muscle beneath.

Then, Adonsa counterattacked.

It extended hundreds of tentacles, each splitting into fifteen smaller tendrils. They pierced the demons' bodies, snaking through gaps in muscle and bone to wrap around their internal organs—letting them truly feel their hearts being stroked.

The sheer, heart-stopping terror of this sensation left even the maddened demons trembling and paralyzed.

A few fearless demons desperately attacked the tentacles, but even temperatures of a thousand degrees could not soften the high-density, high-strength fiber. However, some demons managed to liquefy their bodies to break free. Adonsa simply used its tentacles to drain those fluids, imprisoning them within itself.

Adonsa said nothing, killing half of the demons instantly.

The tentacles contracted ruthlessly, the sound of splintering bone constant. Jagged fragments pierced through skin, creating a gruesome and horrific scene.

Anglora turned her head away, and Roger shook his head in sorrow, unable to bear the sight. The panda let out a mournful cry and covered its eyes, peeking only through the gaps of its chubby fingers.

The remaining demons finally broke under the oppressive, thickening stench of blood. Trembling, they prostrated themselves, pleading, "Oh, Demon King, please, spare us."

Adonsa halted the slaughter. "Do not call me Demon King. I have no interest in ruling over you pathetic waste."

It stepped onto the head of a prostrate demon and said, "Now, who is the worm?"

Adonsa smiled coldly. "Tell me where the other demons are. Feel free to try and deceive me—every syllable of a lie will be something you regret for the rest of your lives."

Roger felt a chill run down his spine. This mission would likely be completely upended by the very existence of Adonsa.
