Chapter Five: Five Slaps
Xu Ruyun never dreamed that Ye Feng would actually come back alive!
Five years in prison hadn’t crushed him; the hitmen she sent hadn’t finished him off either.
How could this kid be so tough?
“I’m not only alive,” Ye Feng stepped into the hall, “but I’m living better than ever!”
“Did you kill Uncle Bao and the others?” Ye Ze pressed.
“Are you talking about those who came to pick me up from prison?” Ye Feng replied calmly. “Don’t worry, they left peacefully.”
One swift throat slash— they didn’t even have time to feel pain.
“You—!” Ye Ze ground his teeth in fury.
Though Uncle Bao and the others were thugs, they helped Ye Ze establish his authority at school, so Ye Ze relied on them deeply and even affectionately called Bao “Uncle.”
Xu Ruyun quickly regained her composure, furrowing her brows and scolding, “Why are you even back? You’re a disgrace to this family! A scoundrel!”
She threw down a newspaper and continued, “This morning, the Ye family issued a public statement permanently disowning you. You’re no longer a Ye family member. We don’t have a son like you. Be smart and leave quickly!”
Raising her head high, Xu Ruyun looked at Ye Feng with the disdain reserved for a stray dog.
No matter how tough this kid was, without the family’s protection, he was nothing but an ant to be crushed.
“Get lost. I don’t have a brother who’s been in prison; it’s embarrassing just to mention it!” Ye Ze also sneered and drove him away.
Faced with the mother and son’s ridicule, Ye Feng remained unshaken.
“I’m here for unfinished business!” he said firmly and took another step forward.
“What… what do you want to do?” Xu Ruyun shrank back as Ye Feng advanced.
“Young master, please leave quickly. Don’t cause more trouble,” one servant pleaded.
“Yeah, you’ve already been in prison once. Do you want to go back?” another added.
“Butler, get some money ready and send the young master out,” the servants surrounded Ye Feng, trying to stop him and ease their master’s burden.
“Get out of my way!” Ye Feng’s fierce shout immediately dispersed the crowd.
At that moment, Ye Feng seemed to transform into a sharp blade, intimidating all who dared to approach.
“What do you want?” Ye Ze stood in front of his mother, pointing at Ye Feng and yelling, “You’re no longer part of the Ye family! This is not a place for you to run wild!”
Ye Feng extended one hand like the grim reaper, gripping Ye Ze’s throat tightly.
“The elder brother is like a father!” Ye Feng said coldly. “There’s no place for you to speak in front of me.”
—With a flick—
Ye Feng threw Ye Ze away like a piece of trash, sending him flying heavily.
“Ze’er!?” Xu Ruyun was shocked and furious. “How dare you hit my son!?”
“I don’t just dare to hit him,” Ye Feng’s strike was lightning fast, “I dare to hit you too!”
—Smack!—
Ye Feng slapped her hard.
Xu Ruyun collapsed heavily onto the ground.

“That slap is for your failure to raise your child and your disrespect for your elder brother!”
The sharp sound of the slap stunned everyone present.
No one expected that Ye Feng, just out of prison, would dare to slap his stepmother.
This was a complete upheaval!
But Ye Feng hadn’t come back for a family reunion.

“Y-you dare to hit me!?” Xu Ruyun was stunned, clutching her cheek with an expression of disbelief.

The second heavy and rapid slap landed.
She was knocked down again.

Another loud slap.
“That slap is for your venomous heart that caused me five years of imprisonment!”
Xu Ruyun was knocked down once more, overwhelmed by Ye Feng’s momentum, speechless.

“That slap…”
Ye Feng thought of the golden thread garment and all the victims of that car accident years ago.
“That slap is for all the victims of that accident — one dead and seven injured!”
Blood dripped from the corner of Xu Ruyun’s mouth.
—Smack!!!!!!
“That slap is to remind you: I, Ye Feng, have returned!!!”
Xu Ruyun’s cheek swelled up high.
In the glaring eyes of everyone, the stepmother of a wealthy family was repeatedly slapped by her stepson. It was an unheard-of humiliation.
Her fury overwhelmed her, her whole body trembled with rage, and she was at a loss for words.
“You made me spend five years in prison. I’ll give you back these five slaps!”

After declaring everything, Ye Feng turned and left.
The servants exchanged glances, not daring to breathe.
