Chapter 7: What's Happening to the Heroines?

Lu Chengwen found Chen Moqun.
Chen Moqun was Lu Chengwen’s sworn brother, the elder brother of Chen Mohuan, and the younger brother of Chen Mengyun.
Chen Moqun wasn’t as handsome as Lu Chengwen; he was a stereotypical chubby guy.
The Chen family business was currently managed by Chen Mengyun, but the majority shareholder was Chen Moqun.
In other words, this guy barely did any serious work; he spent his days driving sports cars and chasing foreign girls, with more money than he could ever spend.
Chen Moqun had many hangers-on but hardly any real friends.
His only true friend, his sworn brother in his own mind, was Lu Chengwen.
When Chen Moqun received a call from Lu Chengwen, he hesitated for a moment, but upon hearing that Lu wanted to have some fun, he became instantly excited and sent him a location.
It was a high-end private club, where all the women were “models.”
If you didn’t spend at least a hundred thousand in one night here, you’d almost be embarrassed to step inside.
That was the standard for ordinary tycoons. When Chen Moqun came here, he usually splurged over a million, all while feeling like he was sparing his old man some money.
So, despite his chubbiness, the treatment he received here was absolutely top-tier.
Lu Chengwen was in a foul mood.
He wasn’t naive—after all, he had played villain six times before and knew exactly how the wealthy lived lavishly. Places like this were nothing new to him.
He noticed that Chen Moqun was just as bored as he was. After staring at beautiful women for so long, he was thoroughly unimpressed and had exhausted all ways of entertaining himself.
But Chen Moqun was far more lively than Lu Chengwen, excitedly calling out, “Sally, Cher, and you… what’s your name again?”
“Brother, I’m called Tiantian!”
“Doesn’t matter, doesn’t matter. You girls keep my big brother company. He doesn’t come to places like this easily. If you can make him lose his mind tonight, heh heh, I’ll give each of you a ten-thousand-yuan red envelope, no upper limit!”
The girls immediately perked up and clustered around Lu Chengwen.
“Master Lu, what kind of tricks do you like?”
“Master Lu, shall we play some games? We have plenty of games, all designed to drive you crazy!”
Lu Chengwen had come to seek pleasure but found he simply couldn’t enjoy himself.
“Quiet down for a moment. I want to have a chat with my chubby buddy.”
The girls obediently stepped aside, turned down the music, and quietly sipped their drinks while chatting softly.
“What’s wrong?” Chen Moqun asked. “Don’t like it? Want to switch to another group?”
“No,” Lu Chengwen sighed. “I’m getting engaged to Leng Qingqiu, you know that?”
“I know.” Chen Moqun snorted. “That Leng Qingqiu... I don’t even know what to say about you. What does she have? Figure? Looks? Which girl here doesn’t? Do you realize how many beautiful women’s youth you’ve wasted these past three years?”
“Besides, even if you like being a simp, why bother with her? That cold attitude of hers... What’s left of the Leng family anyway? Isn’t she just hanging on by relying on your Lu family to keep them alive? And she acts like she owns the place, with that sour face all day long? Seeing her makes me want to puke!”
Lu Chengwen glanced around. “We’ve been dropping money in places like this since college, seeking fun. After all these years, you’re still at it? Isn’t that enough?”
“Hell, it’s long been enough,” Chen Moqun said. “But what else can I do? What am I good at? I tried working once; I took three naps that morning. When my subordinates report work to me, I don’t understand a damn thing! I have no other skills—I only know how to spend money, have fun, and chase girls.”
Lu Chengwen looked at him. “That’s not chasing girls. Chasing means pursuing. It’s not just waving some bills and snapping your fingers to get them to come.”
“Do you mean I should be like you? Following after a woman like Leng Qingqiu who’s got a bad attitude all day?”
“At least she’s from a good family.”
“Well, so is my sister!” Chen Moqun challenged. “Why did you break up with her? Why did you chase Leng Qingqiu instead of my sister? She grew up with you, childhood sweethearts. If you’d saved all those ‘practice rounds’ for my sister, you’d have been her husband by now. I might even be holding my big nephew already!”
Lu Chengwen stared at the shameless guy. “Don’t you have any clue why I broke up with your sister? Didn’t you get me drunk and have a bunch of foreign girls in my bed while she caught us red-handed?”

“That was my youthful ignorance! We can explain that! But you? Acting like the heir of the Lu family and just dumping her outright! Honestly, did you ever really care about her? Or just get bored and throw her away?”
Lu Chengwen nearly shouted, “We were in high school! Damn high school! I didn’t know anything! I kissed her cheek and couldn’t sleep for three days!”
“You two were together all through college. Lost your memory?” Chen Moqun yelled back.
“That’s because you told me to practice on other women first or else my skills wouldn’t be up to par and my sister would reject me!”
“Lu Chengwen, clear this up. The first time, I said you needed practice; the second time, you dragged me along saying we needed to review last lesson’s content and consolidate our learning to ace the test on my sister. Wasn’t that you?”
“Damn! Now you’re blaming me? When that bunny girl was dancing around the pole, you knelt on the floor crying like a fountain, saying I saved your life and you wanted to do this every day for the rest of your life. Wasn’t that you?”
“I was young! Immature! You just indulged me! My childhood dream was to be a doctor, lawyer, astronaut, but you dragged me into this pit. Now I’m a joke in the family!”
“You didn’t become a doctor, lawyer, or astronaut?”
Lu Chengwen asked, and Chen Moqun froze, then nodded slowly. “I did. I was a gynecologist for fallen girls, a smooth-talking lawyer defending sexy female defendants, and even played a starship captain wooing female astronauts in a space capsule…”
The two stared at each other for a moment, then suddenly burst out laughing.
Lu Chengwen chuckled, “You’re really despicable.”
Chen Moqun nodded in agreement, “I should have been an actor.”
At that moment, Lu Chengwen’s phone rang.
Seeing Leng Qingqiu’s name, his face changed instantly, and he shouted, “Quick, quick, get all the girls here! Turn up the music, louder! Let’s party!”
Chen Moqun was stunned. “Why the sudden excitement?”
“Shut up. It’s Leng Qingqiu’s call. I need to keep her away from me!”
When Chen Moqun heard it was Leng Qingqiu, this nearly 200-pound guy jumped up, gritted his teeth, and growled, “Party hard! Party like there’s no tomorrow!”
And so, that was the call just now.
He thought after the call, things would be over.
But thirty minutes later, the club manager came over and whispered in Lu Chengwen’s ear, “Master Lu, Miss Leng has arrived. She’s already in the elevator. Should we have the girls clear out first?”
The manager was savvy and knew the relationships here.
Of course, every club knew the personal details of the heirs from the four great families of the city.
They were cash cows, supreme clients.
They knew their girlfriends’ and wives’ phone numbers, license plates, tempers, social circles—everything.
Otherwise, how could the women’s brigade come to the club to catch cheating men without anyone suffering?
But now, Lu Chengwen didn’t need the manager to be tactful, at least not with Leng Qingqiu.
When Leng Qingqiu entered, she saw Lu Chengwen holding two beauties, eyes closed, howling:
“They all say I’m a charming, invincible, and domineering hero…”
Screech—!
The music stopped abruptly.
“Oh? Why did it stop? I was about to show off my high tenor!”
Lu Chengwen turned his head. “Oh, isn’t this my fiancée-to-be, the beautiful Leng Qingqiu? Haha, come, sit, pick a song and sing!”
Leng Qingqiu looked coldly at Lu Chengwen. “You’re so carefree.”
“Not bad, not bad, just looking for some fun. What’s up with you?”
Her words caught Leng Qingqiu off guard.
Page 3/3
Indeed, he’d been the one to seek her out all these years; she never reached out to him first.
Leng Qingqiu moved her lips. “Come with me. I have questions.”
Leng Qingqiu was used to speaking to Lu Chengwen this way.
In her subconscious, her initiating conversation was already enough of a favor.
She was sure he would immediately grin from ear to ear and follow her without hesitation.
But times had changed.
Lu Chengwen smiled. “I’m a man! A man of iron will and upright spirit, a proud and heroic youth! What’s wrong with having a few girls? What! Is! Wrong! Are you upset? Angry? Fine, let’s break off the engagement!”
Everyone was shocked.
The general manager was already ready to step in and mediate, sensing something was off.
Master Lu was giving Leng Qingqiu no face today, and it seemed like he was aiming straight for a breakup!
Hold on!
Let’s observe first.
Lu Chengwen was immensely pleased with himself.
[Leng Qingqiu, don’t say I didn’t give you a chance. If you can tolerate this, I’ll admit defeat!]
[Oh, your chest must be heaving violently! You’re furious, right? About to blow your top?]
[There’s a beer right in front of you—grab it and splash it in my face, and we’ll call it quits.]
After a moment of inner struggle, Leng Qingqiu suddenly smiled.
She stepped forward; a girl quickly moved aside. Leng Qingqiu sat beside Lu Chengwen and affectionately leaned in.
“Oh, why are you angry? I was just worried about you!”
Lu Chengwen was stunned, almost ready to explode on the spot.
Not only him, even the chubby Chen Moqun stood dumbfounded, and the club manager, who was always prepared to “put out fires,” widened his eyes in disbelief. This was the legendary Leng Qingqiu?
Lu Chengwen was scared stiff. Held by Leng Qingqiu, his body curled up defensively, though he stubbornly muttered, “You… don’t think I won’t scold you just because you apologized…”
Leng Qingqiu hugged him. “No playing today, okay? I just really want to talk with you.”
Lu Chengwen looked at Leng Qingqiu and felt like everything was falling apart.
What on earth were the heroines of this story up to!?
Xu Xuejiao suddenly “mutated” in such a bizarre way that it was enough to drive him crazy.
[What on earth has gotten into Leng Qingqiu today?]
[I just want to quietly be a minor villain, celebrate my birthday in a few days, and not get tangled up with you big shots! Is that so hard?]
[Can’t we just live our own lives? Isn’t it better to die without contact? Is it really that hard not to bother each other?]
Listening to Lu Chengwen’s inner thoughts, Leng Qingqiu felt a pang of sympathy.
This guy really wanted her to go far away, didn’t he?
Lu Chengwen bit his lip hard.
He decided to take a risky gamble!
